Who’s gonna ring the bell? Many of the campers enjoy ringing the bell to signal that it is time to gather for food and fellowship. A week to go until we hear the bell calling us all together!

Staff Introduction: Kristine and Tim have enjoyed visiting Hartman Center over the years with their children. Both help with the HC Spirit Camp activities. Kristine will be working with Melissa this summer to ensure the campers have wonderful snacks like s’mores and homemade ice cream as well as leading the tie dye experience.

They are looking forward to working with everyone this summer during HC Spirit but also enjoy visiting Hartman Center throughout the year.

Staff Introduction: It’s craft time!! We welcome Teresa Hockenberry back as our HC Spirit Arts and Craft director. The campers have enjoyed completing a variety of crafts throughout the years. What has been your favorite craft?

Staff Introduction: Our bonus kitchen helper this year!!! Becky Namet!!! Long time camper, counselor, and SST!! We’re so excited to have her back at the sonshine place!! 💚

Staff Introduction: Melissa is so excited to be returning to Hartman Center again this summer. She has had such a pleasure experiencing camp as a camper, as a co-director, and as a parent of campers. This will be her first summer volunteering with snacks. Melissa is looking forward to seeing returning and new campers!

Staff Introduction: Ryan Yoder started attending HC as a young child in the mid 90’s as a member of Hill UCC. He was a camper every summer until he was able to volunteer, and then spent 2010 and 2011 as an SST. While spending time in the military and law enforcement, he stayed close to camp in any way he could. He spent time as a member of the advisory committee and a volunteer director, and now as a camper again with his children Wyatt and Charlotte. Ryan says “Camp is what molded all of the good parts of me. I lean on the lessons learned and the relationships forged on a daily basis.“

Staff Introduction: Middle School Volunteer - Elliott served last summer as a lifeguard at the pool as well as at the pond and our stream hikes. This year, Elliott will be working with Tayler with our middle school campers.
