More than 2,500 people were baptized at Hanna Park in Jacksonville on May 17 during the Church of Eleven22’s annual beach baptism. The event drew over 14,000 attendees and broke the church’s previous record.
Organizers described it as a powerful moment of faith for many, particularly young Americans. Last year’s total was already strong at nearly 2,000 baptisms. This year’s surge has been viewed by many as a sign of growing interest in Christianity amid broader cultural discussions.
The large public gathering highlighted a continued trend of people, especially younger generations, seeking spiritual community and purpose through public declarations of faith.
