This Sunday, MCNkids (Jr. Church & MCNkids Wednesdays) will journey through a new series "PROBLEMS and PROMISES".

Everybody has problems. No matter how seemingly “perfect” someone’s life is, things are often not as they appear. Even when life is going well, we are all one phone call, diagnosis, or financial hardship away from trouble.

The Israelites were no exception. At one of the most exciting points in the nation’s history—entering the Promised Land—God’s people were still plagued by problems. But God was with them.

Amid life’s problems, we have God’s assurance that He will keep His promises. Through the stories of biblical figures such as Joshua and Gideon, we'll explore some of these promises with our MCN kids:

God hears us, leads us,, makes a way for us, and gives us courage.

In a world full of problems, kids need to know they can trust in God to be with them and keep His promises. One way they come to this realization is by seeing the adults in their lives trust Him with their problems too.

As we prepare to lead our MCNkids through this series, consider these questions.
- How have you seen God fulfill His promises in your life?
- How can you guide your children toward understanding God’s faithfulness during this series?
- What is a prayer you have for your kids throughout this series?

Out latest memory verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17.
"When anyone lives in Christ, the new creation has come. The old is gone! The new is here!"

On Sunday, at Jr Church we shared the story of the Fall in Genesis 3. In short, Adam and Eve disobey God, believing the serpent’s lie over God’s truth. Still, God calls to them, cares for them, and promises that one of their descendants will someday defeat the serpent, who is Satan.

Our Wonder truth for the week: God doesn't give up on us.

Here's a video to review this week's lesson with your kiddos. Have a great week! See ya' Sunday.
Reminder: combined outdoor service and picnic on Sunday @ 10 am.

LAST WEEK, in Jr Church (Sunday) and MCNkids (Wednesday night), we learned that
with Pharaoh’s army pursuing, God provides an escape route for His people through the Red Sea. Later in the wilderness, God cares for their needs by providing bread, water, and meat.

You can watch a lesson recap video here:

Wednesday (MCNkids): https://vimeo.com/725023054/07a80bd643
Note: We'll share this week's recap and video link as well as family discussion questions on Thursday.

Our Wonder Truth for last week (week3 of our "God Rescues" series):
God Cares For Us
Our Story Scripture: Exodus 14–16; Numbers 11
Our Memory Verse for the "God Rescues" series: Jeremiah 32:17
(preK/early elementary) "Nothing is too hard for God"
(elementary) "Oh, Lord God! You made the heavens and earth by your great power and with your outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you!"

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CHILD ABOUT THIS WEEK'S LESSON:
- What is one thing you are learning about God and the wonder of His big story?
- How do you see God’s story as part of your own story?

LAST week, in WEEK 1 of our GOD RESCUES series, we learned how God worked in Joseph’s life to rescue His people and how the same God that was with Joseph is with us. No matter what we are going through, we can remember who God is and that He is with us. His love surrounds us!
So here's TODAY'S FAMILY QUESTION: "How has YOUR family experienced God's love even in the hard times?"
Post a comment, sharing your answer to today's family question.

In case you need a recap of last week's lesson:
You can read the story in Genesis 37:389-50 and discuss the questions posted in the comment section below. Want to start a new family tradition? The Blessing Jar is a great way to be reminded of the ways that God has worked in our lives over the previous year! Whenever you recognize a “blessing” in your life throughout the year, just write it on a piece of paper, fold it up, and stick it in the Blessing Jar. On New Year’s Eve 2023, dump out all the blessings from the entire year and go through them together as a family. It will be a great reminder of God’s faithfulness… in times of joy and in times of difficulty! Jars and other materials to make your family's 2023 Blessings Jar are included in the JANUARY Family Discipleship Packs which are located in the foyer.
