This Memorial Day, we pause as a church family to remember and honor the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured freedoms that we enjoy every single day, and we recognize that freedom has never come without a cost.

Today is more than the beginning of summer or a long weekend — it is a time to reflect with gratitude and humility for those who laid down their lives for others. We also remember and pray for the families who continue to carry the weight of that sacrifice.

As Christians, we are reminded of the greatest example of sacrificial love:
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

May we never take for granted the blessings we have, and may we continue to be people who honor courage, service, faith, and love.
