So tonight at 7:30pm, two forms of battleship are happening on campus. There is the large scale political version of trying to sink the other person in Pucillo which a few thousand people might be at, or there is the less crowded and more fun version of battleship happening in Brooks Hall pool where you get to sink your friends canoe if your lucky. I recommend the battleship in Brooks Hall. Wear you swimsuit or gym shorts/t-shirt and bring a friend for what could be the epic event of the year for UCF.

Hello UCF community,

We have been on a journey this year with God! He has called us, Duane & Kris, to make a transition toward New Life Fellowship Church in Ephrata and continues to confirm that move in a variety of ways.

Meanwhile, God has been preparing a young couple, Jay & Laura Gandy, for ministry and they were led to apply for the pastoral role at UCF. (Picture attached)

After a second interview last evening with the Discernment Team, we are sensing the Holy Spirit's leading to take the next steps and introduce them to the congregation. Jay and Laura are both eager to move forward as well. I use both their names because they would use their complimentary gifts as a couple, though we are looking to employ Jay at this point as a 1/2 time pastor. Future considerations of time and responsibilities will be determined as needs and finances are known.

The projected opportunities for you to meet the Gandys are as follows:

March 20 - Jay and Laura will be with us at UCF to lead worship (one of their many strengths)

April 10 - Jay will teach the Word during our Sunday worship, followed by a luncheon where you can hear their story and ask questions.

April 17 - We will give out ballots to receive input from the congregation regarding your affirmation of Jay as UCF's next pastor.

Jay and Laura have a 7 month old son, Paul, and they live near Lancaster Shopping Center. I encourage you to welcome them warmly and open your heart to their ministry and desire to serve among UCF.

Please make a strong effort to be in attendance on the dates listed above so we can hear god together about appointing a new leader.

Woodcrest Retreat is a Christian, non-profit camp located on a 110 acres in beautifully wooded Ephrata, PA. We are looking to hire young people with a heart for Jesus Christ and a desire to work with children to further the gospel. Camp is a great opportunity to get out in nature, have fun with kids and introduce them to the gospel or help further their relationship with the Lord. Woodcrest is looking to hire seasonal summer help for 8 weeks of summer camp. We are in need of counselors—for both day and overnight camp, nurses, lifeguards, a nature shack instructor, snack bar manager, etc. If you are interested in spending your summer outdoors at camp, please contact the summer program director, Annie at [email protected] or call the office at 717.738.2233. So this weekend, there won't be a blizzard! Join the worship of God Sunday morning on campus in the Student Memorial Center's multipurpose room at 10:30am.

Also, if you desire to grow in leadership potential, join pastor Duane Sunday evening at 6pm at the Potter House. The topics will be "Identity and Character" of a leader.

This is the final week to register with a $100.00 deposit, but there is some financial help available. If you feel called to go, make it known, trust God to provide, and you will be blessed. Sunday worship with UCF is our next large group gathering. On Sunday, Sept. 27, you can expect to hear a student testimony of God's faithfulness, songs to express our love for God, and a message from pastor Duane about the Purpose of the Struggle. If you've ever faced hardship, struggle, challenges, etc, you will be encouraged this Sunday. 10:30am in the SMC MPR.

One week from today is freshman move in at campus! That means the start of the semester and UCF is soon here. Every returning member of UCF should be at the Aug. 23 service in the SMC MPR to help launch the new semester. Connect with a freshman, and meet our new community members.

So the new-look UCF begins this weekend! August 2 begins Sunday morning worship in the SMC MPR starting at 10:30am. There will be new people, a new look, new experiences, etc. If you are local to MU, please join us!

If you are nearby this coming Sunday, University Christian Fellowship will be meeting Sunday evening at 5pm in the SMC, room 24 for a potluck dinner of pasta, salad, desserts, and drinks, and then having worship afterward. You're all invited! Bring something good to eat to share. See you then!
