The Lighthouse Church is beyond proud of our very own Rita Williams-Ellingwood and her husband Bob Ellingwood for their non-stop hard work and dedication to helping members of our community through their non-profit Sunflowers for Sallie. This year The Lighthouse Church members and many community members were given the opportunity to show up and help Sunflowers for Sallie put together 250 Baskets of Hope with a full thanksgiving meal and deliver those baskets to families in need. Thanksgiving isn’t the only time of year Sunflowers for Sallie works to have an impact on the community. Each Christmas Sunflowers for Sallie works to give toys to children in the community who wouldn’t otherwise get presents. If you want to have an impact on your local community through a trustworthy and committed 501(c)(3) organization now is your chance!!! The Lighthouse Church in Millersville is on the move!

We believe God has a purpose in all things so we greet every challenge that comes our way with faith and optimism. As of this past Sunday (29 October 2023) we have packed up our sanctuary and are in search of a new home in the local area. If you or someone you know has commercial space for rent that is around 1,500 square feet please let us know.

For a month or two we will be somewhat transitory in nature so if you are interested in attending one of our services please send us a message ahead of time so we can get you the information of where we will be for that service.

TLC is taking this opportunity that God has given us as a sign to work harder for the Kingdom so we will be launching a brand new ministry and ministerial opportunities in the near future so stay tuned for that.

With heavens gain, and our loss, we announce the sudden passing of James Sears. At a young 93 years of age, Elder Sears left his mortal body at 6:50pm, on Sunday evening the 11th of December. Known to his family and friends as “Little Bit”, He served the Lighthouse Church faithfully for more than 20 years alongside his wife Margaret, as a leader, Elder, and friend to me as Pastor, my family, and our church family. He was a part of the voting membership that brought my family to this congregation. And for more than 20 years he stood by my side through every high and low, and served this church selflessly. As often was the case, as we completed our Sunday service yesterday, Elder Sears was checking on others to see how they were doing, joking around, and letting each of us know, how much he cared. He will be missed greatly until we see him again. Your announcement from heaven is very clear, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” (2 Timothy.4:7-8)

Please keep his precious wife Margaret and his entire family in prayer. The Viewing and Celebration of Life will be posted as soon as final arrangements are completed.
