Millers Creek Baptist Youth

Millers Creek Baptist Youth The Youth at Millers Creek Baptist Church is made up of students in the 7th - 12th grades. We love to see new faces and welcome guests.

Our single focus is lifting up the name of Jesus in all that we say and do. The gospel is shared through Bible study, games, music, discussion, and preaching during each youth worship time. If you or someone you know is looking for a Bible-teaching, Bible-believing, youth-loving place to make friends and love the Lord, then please come be with us at Millers Creek. It's all because of Jesus! Come o

n out to the Lighthouse to worship with other students. Join us as we study God's word together. Spend time developing relationships, and meeting new friends as you challenge them to a game of pool, Mrs Pac-Man, Air Hockey, Ping-pong, the wii, the plastation, or just good old fashioned face to face conversation while listening to the latest in Christian Music. Doors open at 5:30

I'm thankful for students who enjoy serving. Friday, we took a day trip with some of our college students while they were home on break to Marion to help with some rebuild efforts, and as always we had a great time working hard and laughing harder.

Tonight we processed and packed 14 pallets of food which equals out to 20,160 pounds. This food will go out to needy families and senior citizens to help supplement their food needs in their home. I am thankful for a group of teenagers that want to show their love for the LORD by serving their community. We love serving at Wilkes Ministry of hope

Last night we held our inaugural “selfish ambitions balloon bash” as we jokingly called the game. In this game you had to stomp other peoples balloon while protecting your balloon. If your first balloon gets popped you tie your last balloon on to stay in the game and once you have no balloons you’re out, but there was a catch. The catch was that you can sacrifice your second balloon to keep someone else in, but you were out, leaving you with no chance for the prize. The prize for winning was 2 5oz Reeses hearts and a giant share size bag of giant sour patch kids. As you can guess, no one was willing to sacrifice because the prize was so good, each student wanted it all for their self. The point was to teach humble sacrifice. The lesson was centered around Philippians 2: 1-10 and the model of humility of Jesus. Jesus did not count equality with God something to be held on to, only to be experienced by Himself. He let go of everything in heaven and lowered Himself to be born as a baby, live a life of service, go all they way to the cross for us. He was humiliated over and over and sacrificed Himself so that we could have the prize. He gave it all up so that we could have redemption, salvation, forgiveness, a heavenly inheritance, and Jesus as our prize. He was humiliated so that He could be exalted. He left it all so that you and I could receive it all. Have you received the promises of Jesus? Are you living a life of humility and sacrifice so that others can be lifted and receive the prize of Christ? Don’t keep it all for yourself.
