New Beginnings Assembly of God

New Beginnings Assembly of God Sunday School - 9:30 am
Sunday Celebration Service - 10:30 am
Wednesday Devotions & Dinner - 6:00 pm We have our mission.

New Beginnings Assembly of God exists for the purpose of providing three things.
1. A place where new beginnings can be found through Jesus Christ
2. Where the Holy Spirit can be honored according to our distinctive testimony
3. To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ both locally and globally

And then we have our vision. To be a place of healing, hoping in the mercies of our Lord, and helping one another as the hands and feet of Jesus.

THE SILENCE OF SATURDAY
Jesus is silent on Saturday. The women have anointed his body and placed it in Joseph’s tomb. The cadaver of Christ is as mute as the stone which guards it. He spoke much on Friday. He will liberate the slaves of death on Sunday. But on Saturday, Jesus is silent.

So is God. He made himself heard on Friday. He tore the curtains of the temple, opened the graves of the dead, rocked the earth, blocked the sun of the sky, and sacrificed the Son of Heaven. Earth heard much of God on Friday.

Nothing on Saturday. Jesus is silent. God is silent. Saturday is silent.

Easter weekend discussions tend to skip Saturday. Friday and Sunday get the press. The crucifixion and resurrection command our thoughts. But don’t ignore Saturday. You have them, too.

Silent Saturdays. The day between the struggle and the solution; the question and the answer; the offered prayer and the answer thereof.

Saturday’s silence torments us. Is God angry? Did I disappoint him? God knows Jesus is in the tomb, why doesn’t He do something? Or, in your case God knows your career is in the tank, your finances are in the pit, your marriage is in a mess. Why doesn’t He act? What are you supposed to do until He does?

You do what Jesus did. Lie still. Stay silent. Trust God. Jesus died with this conviction: “You will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay” (Acts 2:27 NIV).

Jesus knew God would not leave him alone in the grave. You need to know, God will not leave you alone with your struggles. His silence is not his absence, inactivity is never apathy. Saturdays have their purpose. They let us feel the full force of God’s strength. Had God raised Jesus fifteen minutes after the death of His son, would we have appreciated the act? Were He to solve your problems the second they appear, would you appreciate His strength?

For His reasons, God inserts a Saturday between our Fridays and Sundays. If today is one for you, be patient. As one who endured the silent Saturday wrote: “Be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord” (James 5:7 NKJV).

Today is Good Friday and with solemn hearts we remember the depths of Your love shown on the cross. As Jesus declared, "It is finished," we are reminded that the work of redemption was fully completed, nothing more needed, nothing left undone.
Thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, who bore our sins, our pain, and our brokenness so that we could be made whole. Lord, help us to truly grasp the weight of that moment, the suffering, the surrender, and the love that held Him there.

If you’re on the fence about going to church this Easter, I want to encourage you-- just go.

A perfect church doesn’t exist. A perfect pastor doesn’t exist. A perfect congregation doesn’t exist. So don’t go looking for perfection. Just go.

Have junk in your life? Bring it. Never been inside a church? No one will even notice. Churches will be full of new faces this weekend and you’ll be welcomed with open arms. Just go.

You don’t need a fancy outfit. You don’t need it all together. You don’t need all the answers. Just go.

You will be welcomed.
By Jesus.

Just go ✝️

Psalms 14:1 NLT
[1] Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.”

Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!

A little reminder for your scroll:
joy still looks good on you!

Even in the chaos.
Even in the stretching.
Even in the “Lord, what are You doing?” moments.

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

🌿🌿🌿 Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, a time to remember and celebrate the acts of Jesus by which God saved the world. Jesus entered Jerusalem as King, and the crowds cried, “Hosanna! Save us!” They expected victory, power, and an immediate kingdom. But Jesus came for something deeper. He didn’t come to take a throne, He came to carry a cross. What looked like triumph was actually the path to sacrifice…and what looked like defeat would become the greatest victory. As Holy Week begins, let’s pause to remember, reflect, and consider what His sacrifice truly means for us. 🌿🌿🌿
