David wasn’t defeated by a giant. He had already done that.

The battle that brought him down wasn’t on a battlefield, it was in his heart.

Many of us spend our lives preparing for the big, obvious enemies while neglecting the hidden sins that quietly grow within us. We pray for strength against external battles but ignore the desires that wage war against our souls.

Goliath stood in front of David for everyone to see. Lust stood within him where no one could.

Be careful. The enemy that destroys us is often not the one that threatens us from the outside, but the one we entertain on the inside.

Don’t just ask God to help you conquer your giants. Ask Him to search your heart, expose your hidden weaknesses, and transform your desires. Because sometimes our greatest enemy is not in front of us.. it is within us. 🙏🏻🤍

The miracle did not begin with abundance.
It began with surrender.

Five loaves. Two fish.
A small offering that seemed insignificant in the face of a hungry crowd.

But once it was placed in Jesus’ hands, everything changed.

Jesus blessed it.
Jesus broke it.
And somehow, what was once not enough became more than enough.

Sometimes we are waiting for God to multiply what we have, while still holding it tightly in our own hands.

But the miracle often begins at the moment of surrender.

What you place in His hands—your fears, your plans, your resources, your future—God is able to bless, break, and multiply for His purposes.

Don’t underestimate what God can do with what you’re willing to give Him. 🤍🙏🏻

At the Virginia Annual Conference gathering, lay leader Mike Huff shared a devotional to challenge laity–pray for your pastors. As pastors pour into their communities and pray for others, church members can uplift, support and in turn pray for their pastors. How are you lifting up your pastor?

We request your prayers for the Central and North East Conferences of Nigeria following recent tribal violence involving members of the Wurkun and Karinjo communities. The conflict centers on a dispute over traditional kingship. Sadly, many of those involved are members of both the Global Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church, and the violence has deeply affected families, congregations, and communities.

Please join us in praying for the following:
1. Pray for peace and reconciliation between the Wurkun and Karinjo people, that God will heal divisions, soften hearts, and restore unity among the communities.
2. Pray for the family of Rev. Suleman Shukla, a Presiding Elder who was tragically killed during the violence. Ask God to comfort and strengthen his family during this time of grief and loss.
3. Pray for displaced families, especially pregnant women, children, and the elderly, whose homes have been burned. Many are sleeping outdoors and are vulnerable to malaria, hunger, and other hardships. Pray for their protection, provision, and safe shelter.
4. Pray for love, unity, and wisdom among pastors serving in the affected areas, that they may be instruments of peace, healing, and reconciliation.
5. Pray for the leaders of the two conferences, that God will grant them wisdom, courage, and discernment as they guide their congregations through this difficult season.
6. Pray for the Church's witness in the region, that believers will rise above tribal divisions, demonstrate Christ's love, and work together to promote peace, justice, and reconciliation.
7. Pray for government and traditional leaders, that they will act with wisdom and fairness to bring lasting peace and prevent further violence.

May God's peace, healing, and reconciliation prevail throughout the affected communities and among all His people.

Scripture Sunday 📖

Jesus tells us that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. In this passage, the disciples were unable to cast out a demon and were confused by their failure. These are the same people who walked closely with Him, and even they struggled with faith. This reminds us that God is not looking for perfection, but genuine faith and a willing heart that trusts Him completely.

The mustard seed is small, but it is alive and grows. Likewise, even a small faith, surrendered to Christ, can be used by God in powerful ways. When we empty ourselves of self-reliance and allow the Holy Spirit to fill us, God can do far more than we could ever accomplish on our own.

What mountain are you facing? Bring it to Jesus and trust Him with your next step.

🙏 Lord, take the faith I have, however small, and use it for Your glory. Help me to trust You more fully each day. Amen.

Job proved that someone can lose everything and still worship. Solomon showed us that you can have everything and still feel empty. These truths hit deeply.

Life has a way of throwing both seasons at us—times of loss and lack, and times of abundance and ease. But neither one guarantees peace, joy, or fulfillment. Job, stripped of everything, still lifted his heart to God. Solomon, surrounded by wealth, wisdom, and power, still found himself searching for meaning.

The message is clear: our hearts were made for something more than riches or success. We were made for God.

Money is nice. Comfort is a blessing. But when the LORD fills your heart, there’s a depth of peace and purpose that the world simply can’t match. Let’s hold tightly to that truth today. No matter what you’re walking through—whether a valley or a mountaintop—God is our true treasure. 🙏🏻🤍
