Harriet E. Dambman
Born: September 29, 1924 in Mt. Morris, IL
Died: October 26, 2025 in Freeport, IL
Harriet Dambman, age 101, of Milledgeville, died October 26. Harriet was born September 29, 1924, the daughter of Edward and Mae (Watts) Schnulle. On November 19, 1948, she and Robert Dambman wed in the Lutheran Church in Mt Morris. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2009. She taught Sunday School, served on church council, and helped with planning and serving of church dinners. She also helped with the making of church banners. Piecing quilts and quilting was a part of her life as well as playing gin rummy, listening to her religious music, following Caitlin Clark and watching Dancing with the Stars. Giving to her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren made her happy. She enjoyed gardening, being a homemaker and watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports.
She is survived by her four children, Gene Dambman of Dixon, Gary (Cathleen) Dambman of Milledgeville, Karen (Tom) Martz of Lanark, and Karla Mellott of Sterling. Ten Grandchildren: Tara (James) McDonald of Naperville, Chad Dambman of Dixon, Jared (Christinamercy) Dambman of Dixon, Holli (Brian) Sanders of Shannon, Brant (Colleen) Dambman of South Carolina, Sarah (Dustin) Spears of Lanark, Robin (Matt) Hammer of Lanark, Ryan (Mackenzie) Martz of Polo, Drake (Kayleigh) Mellott of Stoneham, Massachusetts, Karlie (Alex) Angelillo of Medford, Massachusetts, and eighteen Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Milledgeville from 9 to 10:30 and service at 10:45 with the Reverend Terrie Wilder, officiating. Burial will be in the Lanark Cemetery at 2:00. Arrangements entrusted to the McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville. A memorial will be established.
