It is easy to build for ourselves. It is terrifyingly harder to build for a generation we might never see.
Let's be completely honest about what the Christian life actually requires: it involves doing things we don’t always like. It means sacrificing personal preferences and doing the unglamorous, heavy lifting behind the scenes just because the foundation requires it.
If we only do the parts of faith that feel good, we aren't building a beautiful cathedral—we are just building a monument to our own comfort.
This Sunday, we are diving deep into Jeremiah 29 to look at a blueprint for faith when life feels heavy. When God’s people were stuck in a challenging season of exile, He didn't give them a quick exit ramp. Instead, He challenged them to do three radical things:
📍 1. Plant where they were placed—even when conditions weren't perfect.
📍 2. Work for the flourishing of others—even those who didn't appreciate it.
📍 3. Play the long game—trusting the God instead of demanding a quick shortcut.
God isn’t interested in a quick fix to protect our comfort. He is building something massive through our obedience.
Join us this Sunday as we tackle a heavy, necessary question: Are we holding onto a short-term illusion of comfort, or are we willing to be the scaffolding today so the next generation can flourish tomorrow?
