JONAH: MEANT FOR MORE - A New Sermon Series at Millbury Federated Church

It's one of the most famous stories in history: a runaway prophet, a monstrous fish, a repentant city. We think we know the story of Jonah, but have we missed the bigger point? We are meant for more than a faith defined by fear, hesitation, or self-preservation.

Join us at Millbury Federated Church for a brand new, 6-part sermon series through the entire Book of Jonah.

📅 Starting this Sunday, August 23rd, through September 27th.🕙 Join us Sundays at 10 AM.

We’re going deep. We’re exploring not just the storm and the sea, but the depths of the human heart and the heart of God.

What drives our obedience to God? Is it duty, comfort, or something far greater?
Why is it so easy to runaway from what God asks of us?
How does God meet us in our resistance, our failures, and even our anger?

The story of Jonah is not just ancient history; it's a powerful mirror reflecting our own struggles with control, judgment, and God’s relentless grace. You are meant for a deeper, more intentional relationship with God, and this series will challenge us to step into that calling because when we follow God's plan you will be amazed what can happen.

Invite a friend, neighbor, or family member, and discover what "MEANT FOR MORE" means for your walk with God.

We can’t wait to see you this Sunday at 10 AM!

Quick test: Think of the person who frustrates you most. Easy, right?
Now try naming your own blind spot. Harder.
Jesus had something sharp — and surprisingly funny — to say about that gap. This Sunday we're taking an honest look inward, together. Not to feel guilty. To actually get better at helping the people we care about.
Sunday, 10 AM at Millbury Federated Church. You're welcome exactly as you are.

It is easy to build for ourselves. It is terrifyingly harder to build for a generation we might never see.

Let's be completely honest about what the Christian life actually requires: it involves doing things we don’t always like. It means sacrificing personal preferences and doing the unglamorous, heavy lifting behind the scenes just because the foundation requires it.

If we only do the parts of faith that feel good, we aren't building a beautiful cathedral—we are just building a monument to our own comfort.

This Sunday, we are diving deep into Jeremiah 29 to look at a blueprint for faith when life feels heavy. When God’s people were stuck in a challenging season of exile, He didn't give them a quick exit ramp. Instead, He challenged them to do three radical things:

📍 1. Plant where they were placed—even when conditions weren't perfect.
📍 2. Work for the flourishing of others—even those who didn't appreciate it.
📍 3. Play the long game—trusting the God instead of demanding a quick shortcut.

God isn’t interested in a quick fix to protect our comfort. He is building something massive through our obedience.

Join us this Sunday as we tackle a heavy, necessary question: Are we holding onto a short-term illusion of comfort, or are we willing to be the scaffolding today so the next generation can flourish tomorrow?

Here's a quick look at what the Lord's Builders mission team was up to last week in Madisonville, TN serving Notchey Creek Baptist Church. The team helped extend their outdoor pavilion and enclose a stairwell to prevent future flooding issues. Long hard days, but we are so proud of the team and all that they accomplished through the Lord. Notchey Creek, it was a joy to be with you all! Thanks for your love, hospitality, and generosity. God is and will continue to do amazing things through you all!

Advent reminds us that joy isn’t something we manufacture—it’s something God plants in us. And that joy is meant to move us, lifting our hearts and steadying our steps. This Sunday we’ll look at Isaiah 61:1–3 and discover what it means to live with a Heart of Joy: Dancing in His Delight.
We’d love for you to join us and be refreshed in His joy.
