Bethlehem UMC is an inclusive congregation with a heart for missions, located at 253 School Road,Mill Spring, NC. We provide a free meal and a food pantry on Thursday Nights from 5-6:45, pick up curbside at Friendship House beside the church, 235 School Rd. Mill Spring NC) and have regular worship services on Sunday mornings. We also provide wedding facilities, funeral and memorial services. WELCOME to our newest member!
Here are her thoughts as she joined our fellowship.

“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” comes to mind when I was asked why I joined BUMC. The people genuinely care for each other and their community. I don’t feel like I am just a number, sitting in a pew for an hour on Sunday. Once a month we worship with our sister church Stony Knoll CME, and there is a Thursday table free community meal and food pantry. We share our joys and sorrows together and I look forward to growing as a Christian with my new church.”

Friends of Bethlehem..
We are opting today to shelter in place. The rains continue to pour through the morning, rivers are already above flood stage, and there have already been two landslides in McDowell county. Chimney Rock has activated flood warning sirens.We invite you to share any prayer concerns here thru the day.

A plane full of Israeli citizens
A co pilot bent on doing evil
A pilot struggling for his life
and the lives of his passengers.
A plumber and others scrambling for
the opportunity to stop a disaster
through a door unlocked
by a bleeding man.
A plane plunging downward
With deadly speed and little time

If I do the proverbial math
I would fear a horrid end to this story.
And yet…..

A brave hindu pilot opens up a way
A muslim country which zealously
limits access to its facilities
opens up a landing strip.
Passengers leap in to help.
A spare flight team aboard comes forward…

And VOILA!

Grace breaks through the bloody mess!

Jewish passengers, a Hindu pilot,
a Muslim nation all forget their differences
and display humanity at its best.

Just when many decry any possibilities
for peace on earth…
Today, we have been given a glimpse.
May the light continue to outshine the darkness!
