VICTORY IN JESUS BAPTIST CHURCH
Slipping Away
The Bible warns us of letting things slip in our lives and in our service for the Lord, a slip is not planned it just happens without warning sometimes it causes little trouble and other times it causes great harm.
SLIP- to flow by, that is, (figuratively) carelessly pass (miss): - let slip.
The definition lets us see how a slip happens in our life these two ways of slipping are different but cause the same result, we need to be very careful of letting either happen in our lives.
" To Flow By " I can't remember all the times I have been told as a Pastor you need to go with the flow things are changing Preacher, it is very easy to get caught up in the flow and say what is the use in fighting the system anymore. The flow is taking our standards from us we feel at ease because everybody is doing it this way now, and if I hold on to the old time way they will just go where they can find what they want.
Carelessly Miss- The sad truth today is many are just being careless with the things of God they know in their heart are right, we have a Bible that clearly tell us what God expects from us as His children but we carelessly refuse to follow Him and serve Him as we are commanded. Somehow we think this is going to work out OK for us when the Holy Spirit convicts us that it will not, the Bible is very clear about letting things slip where are you today in your personal walk with God?
Heb 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Heb 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Heb 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
' WHAT HAVE YOU LET SLIP "
