Yesterday was a good and fruitful day at Mill Creek!
Our Sunday school and worship time was both encouraging and time to think on am I content.
Pastor Apryl shared from I Timothy 6: 3-10.
The passage helped us think on what is being content. Also what can cause us not to be content in whatever season we maybe in right now.
At 2:0O PM our Kid’s connection met. We are celebrating two years of Kid’s connection. Interesting we had two new young people. A Father’s Day devotional was shared. We talked about super powers that we would like our dad’s to have. Then shared how God has every super power we can imagine! We made a gift for our dad’s or special men in our lives in honor of Father’s Day. We had a ring toss game and also played our version of Jinga!
We finish the time together with an ice cream bar!
The kids loved it!. It was a good day!
Just a reminder Bible study tomorrow at 6:00 PM.
Hope to see you then.

Sunday School opened with a brief object lesson on leadership, taking inspiration from the teamwork and camaraderie of geese. During adult Sunday school we continued our study of Revelation, enjoying thoughtful discussion and sharing insights about the things yet to come.

During worship, we were blessed with a hymn sing, lifting our voices together and making a joyful noise unto the Lord. Grateful for a morning of learning, fellowship, and praise!

Today we carried out the tradition of decorating the tombstones in the graveyard, five of which are Civil War Veterans' graves, before Sunday School. We remembered those who lost their lives in war by each receiving a poppy lapel pin and having a poem of remembrance read and then a reading of Flanders Field to lead us into the message. Pastor Apryl based her message on John 15:13-14 "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." God's word gives us countless people who gave up their life but Jesus gave up the most for us, His life for our salvation.
It is our young men and women who go off to war to continue the fight for the freedoms we have today, just as those who in years past have fought for our freedom. As President Lincoln stated in the Gettysburg Address: "It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain." May we never forget their sacrifices for our freedom. For freedom is not free....it is paid for with a price. Those who pay the ultimate price in death for their fellow man.
1971 saw Memorial Day set as the fourth Monday in May. The President will place a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and flags are to be flown at half-staff until noon and then raised to full staff. Please take time this Memorial Day to remember those who have fallen to pay for our freedoms.

The Great Awakening was a time of christian revival from the 1730-1740's in America. Since then there has been several revivals across our country. There was a group of pastors who traveled across the colonies emphesising personal salvation through Christ's blood. Through the Great Awakening the colonies became united. The 60's-70's saw another revival and today our president has called for a day of prayer and rededication. Additionally, Pastor Franklin Graham has 50 pastors who will be praying for our nation through July 4th.

Pastor Apryl based the message on 1 Timothy 2:1-3.
Supplication - asking for soething boldly
Prayers - our communication with God
Intercession - request we make on behalf of others
Thanksgiving - giving thanks as God walks with us
We are to pray for ALL people, not just those who we are close to. We need to pray for all people to know Christ as their Savior. Remember we all have a place in God's plan.

Romans 13:1-7 tells us to give thanks for our leaders. God has a plan....have you prayed for your leaders? Today churchs are closing their doors and unless we come back to the saving grace of Jesus, the church doors will continue to close. Have you prayed that all will know the saving grace of Jesus Christ? We must each, individually make that choice to know God and to be a witness for him. Are you telling others about the saving grace of Christ?

Pastor Apryl shared about motherhood in today's message. Motherhood is an amazing job. The bible tells us that children are an inheritance from God and gives us examples of good and bad mothers. God tells us he is with us even at 2:00 AM.

Women in history: Margaret Knight invented the machine that cuts, fold, and glues paper bags. Ann Reeves Jarvis organized Mother's day work clubs and taught women about sanitation and hygiene and she helped both the confederate and union soldiers during the Civil War. Her daughter, Ann Jarvis, started to push for Mother's Day about 1904 as a way to honor her mother and all mothers for what they do. President Woodrow Wilson designated the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day and that the flag was to be flown in honor of mothers.

Proverbs 31:10-20 reminds us there are seasons in a mother's life and that women can go beyond what the norm is when caring for their households and families. Proverbs 22:6 tells us: "train a child up in the way they should go and they will not depart from it."

However, being a mother does not necessarily mean that you bore a child. There are many ways to be a mother to a child. Let Christ direct you as a kind word, a small gift, being involved in the child's life in some manner. We need to put God first spiritually and rest in Him. Our children are a gift from God but for a season to take care of them. Our job as mothers never ends.

President Abe Lincoln had this to say about his mother: "I remember my mother's prayers and they have clung to me all my life.
