Sermon Title: God Remembers Through His Gospel, Spirit, and Word (Zech. 2-5)

Description: Last week we witnessed the Angel of the Lord interceding for his people, which resulted in God‘s encouraging declaration that he is intensely concerned and involved in the mission of his people. This week we will see that the blessings which flow from “God remembering“ happen to those who magnify Christ’s gospel, revere his word, and rely on his Spirit.

Sermon Title: God Remembers: Truth for Rejuvenation (Zech. 1:1-17)

Preacher: Nate Graham

Description: We are taking a brief break from Romans to discover the spiritually rejuvenation message of Zechariah, “YHWH remembers!” When God remembers, he is not referring to a lapse in memory. God remembering is God acting to show us mercy. The Jews of Zechariah’s time had become neglectful in their service due to discouragement. What they needed to hear is that God was intensely zealous for them and deeply at work in their midst. They would take this message to heart and complete the work God had for them.

Sermon Title: God’s Promise to Israel (Rom. 11:25-36)

Description: This Lord’s Day we will see how God presides over his promise to Israel with absolute sovereignty and wisdom. While the Jew stands as an enemy of the gospel, they are simultaneously beloved because of the oath God made with their fathers. And one day that oath will be fulfilled.

1. Romans 11:28 says that unbelieving Jews are simultaneously enemies of the gospel, yet beloved by God for the sake of their fathers. How is this so?

Sermon: All Israel Will Be Saved (Rom. 11:25-27)

Description: God has always taken delight in subverting man’s wisdom and expectations. He did this by choosing Israel, an unimpressive nation, few in number. When they thought they were too big to fail he set them aside and filled the family tree with Gentiles. But just when we think the plan is settled, he will once again restore the nation Israel to glory.

Sermon Title: Your Humble Place in God’s Family Tree (Rom. 11:17-24)

Description: Leading up to Romans 11, Paul has humbled the Jews by telling them that the purest way to be related to Abraham is by faith, not blood. But in Romans 11:17-24 Paul humbles the Gentiles by reminding them that they (we) are 1.) unnatural outsiders brought into grace, 2.) susceptible to being cut off like Israel, 3.) and we do not have exclusive rights to a glorious future. Israel will yet be restored. These three truths are to cultivate holy fear and safeguard the Christian from a theology of pride.

Sermon Title: God Has Not Rejected Israel, Pt. 3 (Rom 11:11-16)

Description: After establishing that God cannot reject the Jewish people due to his sovereign election and foreknowledge, Paul now explains why there has been a temporary rejection of Israel. As tragic as Israel’s present chastening is, God’s purposes are glorious. If her rejection brought salvation to the Gentiles, how much more her restoration?
