An old joke goes, "I love sinning; God loves forgiving; he and I get along quite well!" We sense in our guts that's not right. But we still feel a tension, don't we? Maybe it's the worry that too much forgiveness means God is like an indulgent parent raising spoiled children. Or maybe it's the sense that we know that Jesus sets us free from sin, but we still end up doing things we shouldn't, and not doing things we should. In today's sermon based on Romans 6:1-11, Pastor Eric leads us through how the Apostle Paul wrestled with these questions, offering us a new way to think about our life of faith.

In today's Gospel reading from Matthew 9:25-10:8, Jesus notices how the people he ministers to are in desperate need of leadership and direction. He commissions his disciples to go from being observers to being his ambassadors to those in need of hope and healing. In this sermon, Pastor Paige invites listeners to consider how God can use them as raw materials for discipleship and for sharing the good news of the gospel. After the sermon, we joyfully present Senior Quilts to our congregation's high school graduates from the Class of 2026.
