Freedom in Jesus Galatians 5:1 "it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
** Because of Jesus we are free from the penalty and power of sin in our lives**
Penalty: penalty from our original sin is separation from God forever
Power: before giving our life to Jesus we are slaves to our sin and when we surrender our life to Jesus we access the same power through the holy Spirit to overcome this sin -- this acceptance does not mean we won't sin again but rather the holy Spirit within us helps us to overcome the power of sin which is in our life. We have this CHOICE and have to make the choice to allow this power to work through us!
Spiritual freedom is for everyone and is freely given. Celebrate the 250th anniversary of America but also celebrate the freedom you have in Jesus!!!
