Beginning each Sunday, from 1 Dec - 22 Dec we will be hosting the Miles Ministerial Alliance's Advent Study. We'll begin with soup, sandwiches, and fellowship from 12:00pm -1:00 pm, with the "formal" portion from 1:00pm -2:00pm.
We will be using Light of the World: A Beginner's Guide to Advent, by Amy-Jill Levine, as our focus. This study traces the Christmas narrative through the stories of Zechariah and Elizabeth, Mary, the journey to Bethlehem, and the visit from the Magi. We'll be looking at the connections of the Gospel stories to the Old Testament, the role of women in first-century Jewish culture, the importance of Mary's visitation, Mary's Magnificat, and more.
Advent doesn't have to be part of your context to join us for food, fellowship and some time studying scripture with others.
