CEF Prayer Warrior Letter
March 2026

This month is Daylight Savings Time and it reminds me of our mission in CEF, to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. As our MJP Prayer Warriors, we are thankful that you bring our office staff, our teacher and helpers, and our precious boys and girls and our faithful bus drivers, to the throne of God each day. Without your prayers for each part of our ministry, we could not do the work God has called us to do. We thank you for remembering Joe and Virginia, who do much footwork and planning to make each season's ministry run smoothly. We Praise the Lord for each of you!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. For New Bloomfield Elementary School that will be starting an ASGNC on Thursday, March 5th. They 46 children registered. Three teachers will be running this club. We need prayer for more to volunteer to the keep the child/helper ratio up to standard.
2. For our Released Time ending on the week of April 5th. Pray for a strong finish because God is working in the hearts of our children.
3. Because of the increase in child attendance we need more helpers to come forward in our existing RT and ASGNS's.
4. For our "March Bus Bank Campaign", for funds to be raised to help defray the cost of buses used to transport boys and girls to RT.
5. For Virginia and Joe as they speak with the students interested in being CYIA summer missionaries. Pray that their parents will be an encouragement to them as they seek the Lord in serving as a CYIA summer missionary.
6. For our GNC Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 10th. Because we want to show how much we appreciate our teachers and helpers, please pray for the luncheon, to be well attended.

PRAISE:
1. For the increased attendance in all our RT and ASGNC's, this year.
2. As the LORD continues to provide for our MJP Chapter in various ways.
3. For our faithful Committee members, as they meet each month, to have the mind of Christ for our ministry.
4. Praise the LORD for our faithful prayer and financial donors.
5. For safe travels this year for our teachers, helpers and the bus drivers, who transport our children to RT Clubs.
6. Praise for the six possible CYIA Summer Missionaries that we have to interview. One is a returnee, and we have three who we will be interviewing over the next few days. (One of them has already said yes).

February 2026

Isaiah 49:16a – “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands;”

Dear Faithful MJP Prayer Partners,
My husband and I have had devotions together for many years and one of our devotions recently was on Isaiah 49:16a. Since February is, the month set aside to show love to others, this verse made us reflect on how much Jesus loved us. Jesus laid down His life willingly, nailed to a cross, to pay the penalty for our sins, and as the devotional says, “we are forever engraved in the palms of His hands”. CEF ministry has the privilege of showing boys and girls that they too can be engraved in the palms of Jesus’ hands, by seeing their need of a Savior and accepting Him into their hearts and lives. As these children hear the gospel message may many receive Christ into their heart and lives.

Prayer Requests:
1. For Joe and Virginia as they visit the Christian high schools to promote CYIA for summer missionaries. Dates are as follows: (February 2nd - Belleville Christian School, and February 19th- Mifflin County Christian School).
2. For MJP to get two new committee members from Perry County, for our local committee.
3. For our annual Bank Bus Campaign coming up in March, to help pay for Mifflin County buses that transport our boys and girls to Released Time.
4. For the summer of 2026 Soccer Party Clubs, that correspond with the World Cup Soccer Competition that will be taking place here in the USA. Pray for locations and for many boys and girls to participate in this event, to hear the gospel and play some soccer.

Praises:
1. For three young ladies from Juniata Christian School who are praying about becoming summer missionaries.
2. For our faithful teachers and helpers as they give of their time to present the gospel to the boys and girls in the public schools.
3. For Ivy Shilling returning as a summer missionary in 2026.
4. For each of our faithful Prayer Warriors bringing us before the LORD each day.
5. For faithful financial donors who support our ministry.
6. For our Mailbox Club as it continues to grow and for the boys and girls to be faithful in returning their lessons to complete each series. They get a nice certificate for each series they complete.

January 2026 Prayer Warrior Letter

Isaiah 40:8, 30 & 31 – The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Dear Faithful MJP Prayer Partners,
The verses above talk about “withereth,” “fadeth,” “faint,” “weary,” and “fall” and I believe, these are words we can all relate to. We get weary in fighting the good fight in our Christian faith from at times. So let’s put 2025 behind us and look forward to 2026, and be encouraged by the words in these verses that are uplifting. “…the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Verse 31 says to “…wait upon the LORD to renew our strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall ran and not be weary and walk and not faint.” As we look at our individual prayer lists we can get discouraged but we get our strength vertically not horizontally.

Praises:
1. for one child receiving salvation at our Christmas Party Club in Perry Manor.
2. that we are filling RT buses, to capacity, with boys and girls.
3. for overall increase in our club attendance.
4. for our End of Year Giving, so far we have received $2,430.00
5. for our faithful individuals and churches that support our ministry in prayer and financial giving.
6. for our faithful Committee that meets each month to make decisions for our MJP Chapter.

Prayer Requests:
1. New Bloomfield Elementary is interested in starting as ASGNC pray that they will get the help they need to begin this January.
2. for Joe and Virginia as they visit the Christian High Schools to promote CYIA for summer missionaries. Dates are as follows: (January 7th- Juniata Christian School, February 2nd-Belleville Christian School, and February 19th- Mifflin County Christian School)
3. the holidays are over and clubs will be starting on January 5th. Pray for the health of teachers, helpers, students and bus drivers.
4. Since some of our buses our filling up, pray we do not have to turn any child away because of not being about to transport to RT.
5. for MJP to get two new committee members from Perry County for our local committee.
6. for our annual Bus Bank Campaign in March.
7. for the Summer of 2026, Soccer Party Clubs that correspond with the World Cup Soccer Competition that will be taking place here in the USA.

November 2025 Praise & Praise List

“First, I THANK my God through Jesus Christ for you all . . .,” Romans 1:8

Dear Faithful MJP Prayer Partners,

Here we are in November and our year almost over. As I reflect back over 2025, I am thankful for the many boys and girls that have heard the gospel through summer ministry and now through Released Time® and After School Good News Clubs. We are thankful, for the children whose hearts are touched by the gospel and see their need for a Savior. In the club, I help with, there are a few children that carry their Bible to club and are excited to find the scripture and be the one who is called upon on to read. And I love seeing the many hands raised to answer Bible questions.

It is because of your faithfulness in praying each month, as we send these prayer requests out, that make a difference in each of our clubs. You have a part in reaching these children for Christ. So please continue to pray for each club in Mifflin, Juniata, and Perry Counties, for teachers, helpers and especially the boys and girls, so many will come to Christ.

Praises:

1. for the 6 new volunteers for our GNC’s in MJP.

2. for the success of our Open House events. Many of our clubs started with higher numbers, when parents understand what GNC is all about.

3. for God’s faithfulness in providing all our needs here in MJP, now and in the future.

Prayer Requests:

1. for church and school visits for this coming fall and winter.

2. for more prayer and financial support and that new RT or ASGNC’s will open up. Pray especially for New Bloomfield we are welcome to have a club there but we need teachers and helpers.

3. for the health of teachers, helpers and students in the coming winter months.
4. for areas to open up to have Christmas Party Clubs.

5. for a new Party Club that, is being developed, throughout all chapters in PA, to correspond with the World Cup Soccer Competition that will be taking place here in the USA. Pray for Soccer Party Clubs.

6. for our Committee as they meet this month to have a clear vision for our ministry as they plan and lead our MJP chapter.

October 2025 Prayer Warrior Letter

A child who is not taught to fear wrongdoing when he is small will have great difficulty learning to fear GOD when he is a man. Here is why CEF brings the gospel to the children in Released Time and After School Good News Clubs.

Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD if the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”

Dear Faithful MJP Prayer Partners,
Can you believe that October is here and fall weather is on the way? We see changes in the leaves but not the color we are used to seeing because of the dryness we have been experiencing. However, as we get ready for CEF clubs may our message to the boys and girls be fresh and new and may the message of the gospel reach their hearts and may many receive Jesus as their Savior.

Praises:
1. For our Walk-A-Thon, all our numbers are not in yet, but we raised over $3000.00 from the walk that day.
2. For the Open Houses in the schools to let parents know, what our RT is all about. Last year this helped to boost our attendance in many of our clubs.
3. We were told we were not going to be able to have an ASGNC in Juniata Elementary School this year but through much prayer and submitting our form to the school superintendent, the decision was made to allow us to have club this year. Praise the Lord!

Prayer Requests:
1. for 3 Open Houses we will be attending on October 7th, 8th and the 16th of this month.
2. for church and school visit for this coming fall. Pray for more prayer and financial support and that new RT or ASGNC’s will open up. Pray especially for New Bloomfield we are welcome to have a club there but we need teachers and helpers.
3. be in pray for the start of clubs the first week of this month. Also for the health of teachers, helpers and students.
4. Joe and Virginia will be taking a vacation at the end of the month. Pray for safety as they travel.
5. Pray for areas to open up to have Christmas Party Clubs.
6. be in prayer for the Summer of 2026, Soccer Party Clubs that correspond with the World Cup Soccer Competition that will be taking place here in our state of Philadelphia, USA.
7. Pray for our Committee Meeting on the 27th of October. Pray for unity and for decisions made for our MJP Chapter.

August 2025
Mark 10:14 “….Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”

Dear Faithful MJP Prayer Partners,
We just finish summer ministry with two 5-Day Clubs® and Camp Good New® with 3 children coming for salvation in 5-Day Clubs and several in Camp Good News. Pray that these children will read their Bibles, pray and attend RT or ASGNC this fall, so they may grow spiritually. The world today does not want to see our children come to accept Jesus as their Saviour but the ministry of CEF is to reach the children in each of our communities with that Good News of the Gospel. We had 3 new leaders and 2 new helper for camp ministry this year. Praise the Lord for the help.
Thank you for praying for our summer missionary Ivy Shilling as we saw her grow as she taught in each 5-Day Club this summer. She was a blessing to our ministry and she plans to come back next year.
Thank you for your faithful prayer for our ministry, we really count on them.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Pray for children, who were saved in our summer ministries to continue to grow in their new faith.

2. Pray for Ivy, summer missionary as she returns to school in the fall.

3. Pray for our upcoming fundraiser Walk-A Thon on September 20 at Rec Park in Lewistown. We need sponsors and many walkers to help raise funds for our ministry to purchase supplies to continue to do ministry in our tri-county area.

4. Pray for Released Time and After School Good New Club. We could use 8 helpers and at least one more teacher. Pray that the Lord will touch hearts to do this ministry to reach children for Christ.

5. Pray for our kick-off teacher’s meeting in September 5th for a good start to our fall ministry.

6. Pray for Joe and Virginia as they attend Open Houses in the public schools to inform parents about RT and ASGNC.

May 2025 Dear Faithful MJP Prayer Partners,
Here we are in May and what a beautiful spring we are having. I myself am glad that we have not jumped right into hot weather. I was praying about what to say about May and thought of the Proverbs 31 lady. She had many wonderful things said about her but in verse 27A it says, “She looketh well to the ways of her household…. I believe she not only looked after the material things to run her household but I feel she looked after the Spiritual needs of her children and those who served in her household. Here at MJP, now that Released Time is over, we are preparing for CYIA and summer ministry. Even though one season is over, we continue to prepare to serve in the next season. There are always children in our communities to reach with the Good News of the Gospel so we must do what we can to bring the Good News to every Child, in every Nation, Every Day and every season.

Prayer Requests:
 For Ivy Shilling - finishing her pre-training and prepares for training at Camp Harmony.
 5-Day Clubs scheduled for summer ministry
 Joe and Virginia as preparations are underway for Kish Camp.
 For helpers at Kish Camp, so things run smoothly.
 For our RT & ASGNC teachers and helpers and for increased teacher and helpers in each club
 Continued prayer for a PA State Director
 For teachers and helpers for New Bloomfield Elementary, so an After-School Good News Club can be started in that school.
 Continued prayers for Cheryl Bearley, one of our workers, one knee surgery done and another knee surgery to come.
prayers for Linda Notestine (helper) who had a hospital visit.
 prayer for helpers for Camp Good News (contact the office if you are interested.

Praises for:
 For the 11 children who have already registered for Camp Good News this summer.
 Ivy Shilling our summer missionary.
 For our new entrance foyer that we are very thankful for.
 For faithful Prayer Warriors (like yourself) that pray for our ministry daily.
 All the people who are supporting Ivy financially and have promised to pray for her this summer.
 For our MJP Committee.

Prayer Letter - April 2025

Dear Faithful MJP Prayer Partners,

Luke 18:16 says, But Jesus called them unto him , and said, “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
In reflecting on this verse I feel that is what are teachers are doing in RT and ASGN Clubs. They are bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the boys and girls so they can hear the Good News of the Gospel. At this Easter season what a great opportunity to tell of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection so decisions can be made to accept Jesus as their Savior. May we all reflect on the price that was paid for us on the cross.

Prayer Requests:
1. for our summer missionary as she prepares for summer ministry in CYIA Pre-training.
2. for on young lady who is showing interest but as yet has not committed to summer ministry.
3. for teachers and helpers for camp ministry this summer
4. Continued prayer for the search for a new PA State Director
5. for Joe and Virginia as they prepare for summer ministry
6. for teachers and helpers at New Bloomfield Elementary School for and After-School Good News Club next fall

Praises for:
1. Joe and Virginia as they present our MJP Ministry to churches and schools.
2. a successful February Bus Campaign bringing in over $3500.00 to pay for the buses bring children to Released Time.
