Good winter afternoon, Church.

I pray that all is well with our souls above all else, for today could be the day!

I have made the decision to cancel our Bible study this evening due to icy streets, in particular, after dark. We have much upon which to reflect from Sunday's messages. Please revisit those lessons concerning God's plan for the ignorant and wayward (Hebrews 5 & 6) and also the beginning of Ecclesiastes and the vanity of worldly wisdom.

The updated prayer list along with missionary letter will be sent to you via email. May I encourage you to take time in prayer with your family this evening?

Lord willing, we will be back on the normal routine this Sunday!

Love y'all,
Pastor Tim

Good evening, Church.

As was discussed Wednesday, we have made the decision to move tomorrow's 11 am and 3 pm preaching services online via Zoom. If we do not already have your email address and you would like to join us for the services, please send your email address to [email protected], and we will be sure to send a link for each service. Thank the Lord for the technology that will allow for us to safely, virtually gather. We look forward to seeing you!

Isaiah 1:18 KJV — Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

TO THE PARENTS WHO ARE SO DEDICATED TO THEIR CHILDREN'S SPORT.

A FRIEND ASKED ME...
-Why spend so much money and time on your child to train football or any other sport .

I ANSWER YOU ....
Well I have a confession to make, I don't pay because my son trains and plays. Do You Know what I'm Paying for???

I pay for my son to learn how to be disciplined

I pay for my son to learn to take care of his body and mind.

I pay for my son to learn to work with others and be a good teammate.

I pay for my son to learn how to deal with disappointment when he doesn't get what he expected, but he knows I have to work harder.

I pay for my son to learn to reach his goals.

I pay for my son to understand that it takes hours and hours of hard work and training to get a championship, and that success doesn't happen overnight.

I pay for the opportunity my son will have to make lifelong friendships.

I pay for my son to be on the field and not in front of the tv.

I pay for those times when my son gets so tired he just wants to lay down and doesn't think or has time to be lazy or in bad things.

I pay for all the teachings that this beautiful sport gives you: "responsibility, humility, dedication, friendship, coexistence, etc, etc." ".

I could go on, but to make it short;
I don't pay for the internship. I pay for the opportunities this sport offers my son to develop attributes and skills that will be very useful throughout his life and give him the opportunity to value life.

FOR WHAT I'VE SEEN TILL TODAY... I THINK IT IS MY BEST INVESTMENT.

Good afternoon, Church.

Once again, our roadways are largely unsuitable for travel. My former pastor used to say, "There's a fine line between faith & foolishness." We will attempt to navigate that line again today by canceling our Wednesday services. I will be sending out by email an updated prayer list along with a missionary letter. Also, please focus in on Ezekiel chapter 7 today aside from our regular Ezekiel challenge reading. We look forward to messages from chapter 7 this coming Sunday, Lord willing.

Love, miss & praying for you!

Good afternoon, Church.

Due to varying road conditions, the decision has been made to cancel services for this evening. Let's pray for one another and spend some additional time around our Bibles today as the Lord gives us the opportunity. Be careful!

The Open Door Baptist Church Scorchers ministry is really about teaching, as in Matthew 28. We desire to teach our pupils:

1. To become a (godly) man - Psalm 12:1
2. To make a living (work ethic) - Lamentations 3:27
3. To marry - Hebrews 13:4
4. To multiply (godly seed) - Psalm 128
5. To make disciples - John 15:8

Be faithful, Church.
