I did the shower with Megan and Doug BBQ the meat and I prepared rest of meal for 35 for the rehearsal meal. Paige wore my tierra from our wedding 60 years ago! I also did some altering on her dress. All that was a joy! It was a blessing for us to share this day with our family!! Yes, grandpa and Doug cried along with a few more relatives!

In this week’s Gospel lesson, Jesus calls on His followers to love others as they have been loved by Him. This weekend, we remember how a congregation has worked to put that command into practice.

The lessons for the Second Sunday in Lent are the Parables of the Treasure in the Field, and the Parable of the Pearl. These two short parables are said to describe what the Kin-dom of God is like. Unpacking these parables explain God’s grace, the universality of salvation, a call to care for all, and what the great price truly is.

The lesson for the First Sunday in Lent is the Parable of the Sower. While some of the seeds will not grow where the Sower sows them, it isn’t the Sowers responsibility to discriminate where to sow. The Holy Spirit will prepare the ground at the right time to receive seeds, and people’s hearts to receive the Good News.
