Fifty years ago on May 14, Redeemer Lutheran Church was fire-bombed. On Saturday, May 14, we will have an open house at Redeemer beginning at 11 a.m. to celebrate the resiliency of the members of Redeemer. On Sunday, May 15, we will hold our worship service there as well.
In this week’s Gospel lesson, Jesus calls on His followers to love others as they have been loved by Him. This weekend, we remember how a congregation has worked to put that command into practice.

The lessons for the Second Sunday in Lent are the Parables of the Treasure in the Field, and the Parable of the Pearl. These two short parables are said to describe what the Kin-dom of God is like. Unpacking these parables explain God’s grace, the universality of salvation, a call to care for all, and what the great price truly is.

The lesson for the First Sunday in Lent is the Parable of the Sower. While some of the seeds will not grow where the Sower sows them, it isn’t the Sowers responsibility to discriminate where to sow. The Holy Spirit will prepare the ground at the right time to receive seeds, and people’s hearts to receive the Good News.

The lesson for Ash Wednesday, is the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. Not only do we learn the benefit of humility, but we also see how our understanding of Law and Gospel can shape our worldview.

Join the Covenant Lutheran Oklahoma City Churches in worship this Sunday, February 27.
St. Mark's service is at 9:00 am & is streamed on St. Mark’s page. Redeemer and Ascension’s service is at 11:00 am, & is streamed on Zoom and Redeemer’s page.
Bishop Girlinghouse will lead Services of Holy Closure, Farewell and Godspeed at both St. Mark and Redeemer on Transfiguration Sunday, February 27.

This Sunday, Luke's Gospel tells of Jesus taking his three closest associates up a mountain where he meets with Moses and Elijah, and he is transformed, and his appearance is a blinding white. His disciples, especially Peter, struggle with how to act after this experience. Later, Jesus rebukes all twelve for not having the faith to cast out a demon. In the face of everything we encounter, how to we react and live in faith and love?

We will begin having worship services as All Saints Lutheran Church on Ash Wednesday, March 2nd at our East Reno campus at 1 pm and 7 pm. The first All Saints Sunday service will be on March 6 at the East Reno campus at 10 a.m.
