The House of God

The House of God WE DARE YOU TO BE DIFFERENT!! http://www.thehouseofgodchurch.org/ Our Core Values:

1. (Ephesians 4:1-6; 1 Corinthians 12:13).

Love - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers that love one another. We value the truth that by loving one another, we demonstrate to the world that we are born-again believers with a personal relationship with God, for God is love (I John 4:7-8); and we prove that we are Jesus’ disciples (John 13:34-35). Therefore, we will strive to demonstrate godly love among believers th

at will inevitably pe*****te our community and our world, for love is the prerequisite for evangelism.

2. Unity - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers whose common possession is the Holy Spirit who unites and baptizes all believers into one body. We value the truth that the unity of believers reflects the unity of the Trinity; and it is the prerequisite for evangelism as well (John 17:21-23). Moreover, wherever God’s people dwell together in unity there is: 1) the anointing of the Holy Spirit, 2) the sweet smelling savor of Christ’s presence, 3) an oasis providing the reviving power of Jesus, and 4) God’s blessings (Psalm 133). Therefore, we will strive for unity in the Body Christ, our community, and all our ministries and church activities by promoting reconciliation and in*******al relationships.

3. Prayer - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family that prays. We know that prayers have power and are part of Jesus’ vision for the church. Jesus stated as He was cleansing the temple, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations?’...” (Mark 11:17). Moreover, God wants His children to pray on daily basis consistently, persistently, and specifically, for Isaiah 62:6-7 states:" I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." Therefore, we will strive to be a multiracial/multiethnic family of ministers of reconciliation who prays consistently, persistently, and specifically so that the church can be a house of prayer for all nations and of all nations.

4. Truth - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family that knows and stands up for the Truth. We know that the Truth is Jesus Christ (John 14:6); and that the Truth is God’s Word (John 17:17). Therefore, we will proclaim that Jesus is the Truth to a lost and dying world, and will teach God’s Word without compromise. Moreover, we believe that the Holy Bible is inspired by God, and it is the inerrant and infallible word of the living God.

5. Family - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family that knows the importance of family in society. We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family that values marriage as an institution that God established in Creation (Genesis 2:24), and as the foundation of the family. Moreover, we value the fact that the family unit is the foundation of society. We acknowledge that society reflects the family unit in terms of relationships and values. Furthermore, we acknowledge that the church is a family of believers as well. Therefore, we will strive to emphasize the importance of marriage, the family unit, the family of God, and the sanctity of human life.

6. Relationships - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers that are committed to forming and maintaining relationships with family, other believers, and God. Therefore, we will strive to form and maintain relationships through small groups (Acts 2:42), corporately, and personal devotionals to God.

7. Diversity - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers that are committed to diversity in terms of race (Acts 13:1), spiritual gifts (Ephesians 4:1-16; 1 Corinthians 12), and music style, not doctrine. We are a family who loves one another regardless of our differences. Therefore, we acknowledge and are committed to maintaining diversity among the congregation and leadership.

8. Reconciliation - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers that are ministers of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5: 17-21). Therefore, as ministers of reconciliation, we will seek the lost and get them to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. Moreover, as the Body of Christ, we will seek to be reconciled to one another spiritually, racially, and relationally.

9. Excellence - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers that strive for moral excellence, because Jesus gave His best (Col. 3:23-24). Therefore, we will continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ so we will not stumble (2 Peter 1:1-10). Moreover, we will strive to honor Him by maintaining a high standard of excellence in all our ministries and activities

10. Involvement - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers that are co-laborers with God (1 Corinthians 3:5-10). Therefore, The House of God (THOG) will consist of believers who are actively involved in the various ministries of the church. In addition to other ministries of the church, all our members will be involved in the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians. 5:17-21) — reconciling one another to God first and then to man.

11. Justice - We value a multiracial/multiethnic church family of believers that are just and stand for social justice. Since God is a just God (Deuteronomy 32:4), He wants His children to be just (Leviticus 19:13-15; Romans 1:16-18; Romans 3:25-29). Therefore, we will strive to do justice to everyone (Psalm 82: 2-5), for justice is personal and it deals with the way we treat one another. If we do justice to one another, then we truly love one another.

Sometimes God will put you in a battle empty-handed so when you get the victory, you will know it wasn’t you but Him (1 Corinthians 15:57)

“I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleanness, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.” – Ezekiel 36:24-28 (ESV)

This scripture is a powerful image of the new life that God gives to His people when they come to him in faith. What is necessary here is not simply a new ethical direction or a decision to live a better life. Instead, it’s “a new heart, and a new spirit” from God alone that is needed. Let’s be clear that this is not referring to a new heart created in some self-generated way, but one given by God. We are people whose hearts are naturally made of stony rebellion toward God. None are exempt from this. Our only hope of salvation is for God, by the power of His Holy Spirit, to perform the miracle of removing those stony hearts and giving us “hearts of flesh”. This is so we will have hearts that respond to him, love him, and desire to know him. The new life or new beginning that the gospel refers to is not a new set of clever strategies, spiritual rehabilitation, or fresh resolve to live in a new way out of our old resources. It is simply a new importation of divine power that changes us at the very core of who we are. We are changed from the inside out. It is a transformation so profound that even our very desires are changed.

No life is more secure than a life surrendered and yielded to God (2 Timothy 1:12)

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” – Luke 9:23-24 (ESV)

All believers are children of God, but there is a vital difference between being saved as a son and following the Lord as His disciples. We are saved from our sins because we trusted Jesus as our Savior Who died on the Cross. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ. But to become a true disciple, we must take up our cross daily and follow the Lord Jesus. We are to walk the way of the Cross. Our life is to be a life of surrender, suffering, sacrifice, and service to Him. If you give up your life for the Lord, you will not lose it but rather save it. When it mentions verse 24, the second sentence here, it implies that we are called to sacrifice on account of Christ, not out of carelessness. Following the Lord in surrender, suffering, and service is a daily discipline, but with wonderful benefits not only in this life but in the eternal ages to come.
