The Ed Runyan Sr. Voices for a Cause Series has brought incredible, one of a kind guests to Midland, creating unforgettable meet and greet experiences, serving alongside us, and helping raise awareness for our mission during our annual “No Hunger Summer” campaign. And this year will be no different!

Be on the lookout THIS FRIDAY as we officially announce our BIGGEST celebrity guest yet, who will be joining us on June 5th! We’re confident this is someone you’ll ALL recognize! 👀

We are incredibly grateful to Sheriff David Criner for taking the time to serve alongside us each month at Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry especially bringing his wife to join in as well.

It means more than words can express to the individuals and families we serve to have that one-on-one connection with their Sheriff. Moments like these build trust, encouragement, and a true sense of community.

Hello everyone, as the people who see us most in our lives on a daily and weekly basis, we want you to be informed on the situation we find ourselves in right now!

After we finished lunch service yesterday, Mr Jason developed a pretty high fever. We took him directly to signature care in hopes of getting a shot or a quick fix to a possible head cold.

The day quickly changed when the nurse decided to do some extra blood work and scans due to him having a tight and heavy chest.

Those scans discovered multiple blood clots in both of his lungs and legs. Which he then was rushed by ambulance to MCH in Odessa immediately to begin treatment to dissolve them.

He spent the night in the hospital and we are still here today. As far as they can see right now there is no strain on the heart so that is one positive. They will continue monitoring his heart to make sure the clots are not effecting any functions. If that remains the case we should be discharged soon to continue dissolving medications at home.

Please keep him in prayer that his heart would remain stable against these clots and they dissolve as quickly as possible.

“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.” [Jeremiah 30:17] Believe with us!

A huge THANK YOU to Cudd Well Control for stepping up in a big way! 🙌

After wrapping up the Roseland West Texas Convention, where their team brought home the Best in Show Exhibit, they didn’t just pack up and head home! They made a powerful impact right here in our community.

Because of their generosity, Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry received an incredible donation of leftover BBQ enough to feed hundreds. 🍽️❤️

We’re so grateful to Cudd Well Control, along with Cudd Pressure Control, Thru Tubing Solutions, and Spinnaker Cementing Solutions, for not only showcasing excellence at the convention, but for giving back in such a meaningful way. 💙

Today we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to City Councilwoman Amy Stretcher Burkes for spending time with us at Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry!

As a councilwoman, she serves our community every single day but today, she chose to serve in a different way by helping provide meals to those in need!

We had an incredible opportunity to speak yesterday with the Midland Youth Advisory Council! 🙌

It was an honor to share the heart behind Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry who we are, what we do, and the impact we’re making every single day in our community. From serving thousands of meals each month to supporting families and children in need, we were proud to highlight what it means to be Midland’s soup kitchen.

Even more inspiring was getting to answer thoughtful questions from such a bright and engaged group of young leaders. The future of Midland is in great hands! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to the entire Midland High School Varsity Baseball Team for choosing to spend part of their spring break volunteering at Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry! ⚾️

These young men could have been doing anything else during their time off, but instead they stepped up with incredible leadership and servant hearts to help serve over 120 of our patrons on this windy dusty day. Their willingness to give back to the community is truly inspiring.

We are grateful for each of you and proud to see the next generation leading by example through service.

If you know Midland Soup Kitchen, you know Maria! Maria brings a special kind of joy into the ministry every single day. She’s the one clapping along to the music, greeting guests with a warm smile, and never hesitating to pray with someone who needs encouragement. Her spirit lifts so many people.

Today we had a special surprise visit from someone many of our regulars remember, David. David used to be a daily patron with us while going through a difficult season of life. But today he came back living an incredible testimony. His life has completely turned around. He’s now working an outstanding job and has made it off the streets, which is why we haven’t seen him in a while.

When Maria saw David walk in the door, the joy on her face said it all. She was so proud of how far he has come. In true Maria fashion, she wrapped him up in a heartfelt prayer of encouragement right there the exact moment this photo was captured.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. Lives change. Hope grows. And sometimes the greatest blessing is getting to see someone come back to share their victory. 🙏
