This past Sunday, our parish faith formation program, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, welcomed Fr Ignatius to our Level III (4th-6th graders) session for a Q&A time.

This semester, our students have been diving deep into everything from the History of the Jewish People, to the Call of the Prophets, to the Common and Proper prayers of the Mass as well as the Plan of God and the biblical origin of the Sacraments. Naturally, they had plenty of questions for Father—ranging from “Why do souls go to purgatory?”, "Can you confess your sins in purgatory?" to “Was Isaiah freed from sin after the coal touched his lips?” and “Was the Ark of the Covenant still in the temple when Jesus was a child?”, "Who was Martin Luther in our Church?" and even "How do priests pay for things?" to name a few.

Next semester, we will dive deeper into Typology, the Sacraments, along with a study of Moses and the Miracles of Jesus.

Our Family Open Gym in the YAC was so successful on Monday, we have decided to open the Youth Activity Center every Monday and Wednesday in July from 9am until 12 noon! Everyone is invited, children must be accompanied by an adult. The walking track will also be open for anyone who would like to use it!

The decorations are hung in the Youth Activity Center, the name tags are set out and the volunteers are all ready to welcome everyone Monday morning to Our Kingdom Party VBS! Please keep us all in your prayers as more than 315 students, teens, and adult volunteers begin one of our favorite weeks of summer in our parish!

Decorations for VBS are under construction! We can't wait for Vacation Bible School to start on Monday! We are going to have a great week as we celebrate our Kingdom Party- Mary Leads us to Jesus VBS. Any teen or adult who would like to come help us set up this week we will be in YAC tomorrow and Thurs of this week 9:30-12:30!
