Food Safety Workshop
Tara Hovis, NDRT, Food Safety Expert through MSU Extension will be presenting a workshop for anyone who volunteers in meal preparation at St. John’s (or any community non-profit). The presentation will include an overview of why food safety is important when working in our licensed kitchen (this includes the kitchenette) and how we can prevent food borne illness by following these rules. Board of Operations and Women of St John’s are working on guidelines for kitchen use, and this program is part of those guidelines. The program is an overview of the areas that are part of a ServSafe Food Service Manager certification.
If you are involved in preparing, cooking, and serving food for any event held at St. John’s at least one member of your group should attend this workshop.
