Pastor Nate shared how the Bible is unique among all books in the world because it is a "special revelation" from God. God is its author, and he created it in the same way he spoke the universe into existence (God-breathed). Humans no longer need to "search for God" and wonder who he is because he has revealed himself in the Scriptures!

Since there's no greater treasure than the very words of God, we value and prioritize the Bible through listening, reading, studying, memorizing, and meditating on it, so we may follow Jesus and be equipped for every good work he calls us to!

What is the Bible? How can it help me?

Many people relegate the Bible to mythological literature, best suited alongside Homer’s Odyssey. However, when Jesus walked the earth, he boldly proclaimed that God’s Word was the truth.

Don’t have a church? Have you been thinking recently that you should go? Join us tomorrow as we learn how the Bible is unlike any other book. Countless lives have been changed by it, and true encounters with God happen when we earnestly delve into "The Book" and contemplate his wondrous instruction!

If we want to follow Jesus, God knows we can’t do it alone! He gives us the church, our eternal spiritual family, so that we may run the race of this life and faithfully follow Jesus together!

We learned that you should commit to the church for:

1) YOUR benefit (you need the church)
2) For OUR benefit (the church needs you)
3) For the benefit of OTHERS (others will know Jesus is sent by God when they see the commitment and unity of the church - John 17:23)

Yesterday we learned that a believer in Jesus is someone who fully trusts Jesus alone for their right standing (justification) with God and is committed to wholeheartedly following him all their days.

A follower of Jesus:
1) Listens to him (John 8:47)
2) Prioritizes him (Matthew 6:33)
3) Obeys him (John 14:15)

Yesterday we learned that people search far and wide for purpose in this life. The ancients have argued differently, is the purpose of life to attain wisdom? Happiness? Pleasure? The Bible teaches us our God-given purpose: to glorify Jesus Christ and enjoy him forever!

Many people are intrigued by “heaven” and want to go there someday. Thankfully, it won’t be some boring, never-ending harp concert put on by babies with wings. It will be the place where we enjoy the glory of Jesus Christ for all eternity!

Jesus offers people hope in this life, and the life to come. He demonstrated this by raising a dead man from the grave, which ultimately foreshadowed the day when he would die, be buried, and be raised again on the third day to offer eternal life to all who believe.

And he leaves everyone with this question: do you believe?
