The comfortable and spacious Riverview Spiritual Center at Camp Pecometh in Centreville, MD (on the beautiful Chester River) is having a silent retreat week Feb. 14-19 - with daily liturgy, spiritual direction (Karen Covey-Moore and yours truly are directing), yoga, massage, simple, healthy meals and the BLESSING of quiet. I walked the labyrinth yesterday. As I meandered around all these little windy circles, they reminded me of the friends, family members and faith communities that mean so much to me. But when I reached the center, I really felt how they were all part of one great circle and they all shared one common center. The smaller circles though make a lovely design and give the Whole its total beauty. Same with love, I guess. No such thing as love, without its particular faces... And yet, the love we share comes from the One Source from whom we all spring. May new life and unity flourish for all of us - uniquely special AND interconnected.

I'm up at Wernersville, PA at the Jesuit Center once again. I love to sit beneath the cloister walk and gaze out at the hills, to be in deep silence with other people who are also opening themselves to the presence, love and activity of God in their lives, to sit in the grass and watch the squirrels, and to have nothing else scheduled to do - aaah!
