“Every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.” — Mark 9:49

This Sunday, we were challenged with a sobering truth: everyone will be salted with fire.

For the believer, the fire is not meant to destroy us, it is God’s tool to refine us. Through trials, hardships, correction, and seasons of testing, the Lord is shaping us into the image of Christ.

Too often we pray for comfort, but God is working for something greater: Christlikeness.

The fire reveals what is in our hearts. It exposes pride, self-reliance, and sin—not to shame us, but to draw us closer to Him.

We cannot transform ourselves. We must yield to the One who can.

As followers of Christ, we are called to be a people marked by repentance, faithfulness, humility, and peace. A seasoned Christian isn’t one who avoids the fire, but one who allows God to use it.

🫀 God doesn’t waste the fire.
🧂 Salt preserves. Salt purifies. Salt refines.
🔥 The goal is not comfort. The goal is Christlikeness.

“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Romans 12:2

What a wonderful Father’s Day at Middletown Baptist Church 💙

Yesterday was filled with worship, prayer, fellowship, and gratitude as we gathered together as a church family to honor the fathers and father figures who faithfully invest in the next generation.

As we look through these moments, we’re reminded that some of the most important kingdom work happens in everyday faithfulness—men leading their families, serving their church, encouraging others, and striving to follow Christ.

We’re thankful for the dads, grandfathers, husbands, mentors, and spiritual leaders who continue to make an eternal impact both inside and outside the walls of our church.

Most of all, we’re grateful for the opportunity to worship together, open God’s Word, and celebrate the goodness of our Heavenly Father.

“The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.” — Proverbs 20:7

Thank you to everyone who joined us this Sunday. We love seeing our church family grow together in faith, fellowship, and service.

Love. Grow. Connect. Serve.

What happens when you fully surrender your life to Christ?

For Forrest, it meant discovering a new purpose, a growing faith, and a desire to live for God’s Kingdom.

Here’s what Forrest wants to share:

“I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior two years ago, and every day since then I have prayed that He would guide my steps. Throughout that time, He has continued to pour out His love and provide opportunities for me to grow in my faith by bringing me closer to my brothers in Christ.

As I’ve grown in my walk with Him, I’ve come to understand what it truly means to seek first the Kingdom of God and trust that all else will be added according to His will—not my own. I’ve learned to surrender and embrace the truth that it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives through me.

Jesus has now given me opportunities to share my faith and steward the blessings He has placed in my life for the purpose of furthering His Kingdom.

The most important step anyone can take is accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. None of us can meet God’s perfect standard on our own. We are sinners saved by grace through faith, and Jesus willingly died on the cross to pay the price for our sins.

Even while hanging on the cross, He cried out, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ To understand that love is to begin to understand the sacrifice He made for us and what it means to follow Him.

As I continue to place my full faith in the Lord, I am grateful for all He has done in my life and excited for where He leads me next.”

📖 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

We praise God for the work He is doing in Forrest’s life and for his desire to publicly declare his faith through baptism. What a joy it is to see lives transformed by the Gospel and believers taking their next step of obedience in Christ. 🙌

120+ children reached with the Gospel in just two days. God is working in Rwanda. 🇷🇼❤️

Over the past two days, our missions team has had the incredible opportunity to serve more than 120 children through Vacation Bible School. Through Bible lessons, songs, games, and the love of Christ, seeds are being planted and lives are being impacted for eternity!

We’re grateful for the faithful servants who answered God’s call to go and share the Gospel. While we celebrate what God has already done, the work is not finished.

Please continue to keep our team in your prayers as they serve throughout the remainder of the trip. Pray for strength, wisdom, safety, open hearts, and most importantly, that many would come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15

Thank you, church family, for praying, supporting, and being a part of what God is doing not only here in Middletown, but around the world.
