The Prayer of Examen can help reflect on the day and deepen our connection with God. By taking time each day to review our actions, thoughts, and emotions, leaders gain valuable insights into our spiritual journey and experience personal growth.

Whether you're new to the Prayer of Examen or have been practicing it for years, this small but powerful spiritual practice can make a big difference. Why not give it a try?

4 Easy Steps to Make Valentines for Blast of Love with your child:

1. When trying to stretch the evening, so that bedtime is at a reasonable hour, which hopefully means they will not wake up at 5 AM, maybe suggest painting a sheet of paper. There is no particular way they need to paint the paper, which is great when a child might not be feeling like being agreeable. This is also an easy art opportunity for those who are not artistically inclined.

2. After the paper has dried, and the child has gone to bed, cut out hearts. We recommend that you do not do this with the child nearby, in case they might be confused about you cutting up their very precious artwork that they did not want to make in the first place. If you do not know how to cut a heart, we recommend folding the paper in half, as shown, but square valentines are perfectly acceptable.

3. Write an encouraging message on the heart. If you are doing this with a small child nearby, we recommend not using permanent markers in front of them, for fear of new artwork on your walls. Simple messages, like “You Matter” and “You are Loved,” are perfect. The goal is for the recipient to feel a little bit of love.

4. Place the Valentines in a bag and return them to Middletown. We need over 1000 valentines for the blast of love event. Please drop off Valentines by February 8.

Students who make valentines can get community service hours. Please just reach out to the office.

Parents who make valentines will most likely have a messy dining room table, but will have taught their children the importance of sharing love with the community.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you." - Isaiah 60:1-2 NIV
