Camp 9Twelve 2025 is officially in the books! Pastor José Torres spoke about how we only show other our 10% and hide 90% of who we are. But how do we get Below the surface? Samuel 16:7 says “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” We looked at the life of David where his father, Jesse, presented all of his sons to Samuel except for daniel because they all were stro warriors and “attractive”. He was assuming the Lord would want them based on their 10%. After going to get his son that was left in the field, David was the chosen one. How do you think David felt being seen and chosen by God?
• How does it make you feel knowing God has also chosen you, even when our friends and family dont?
• How do you or can you stay connect to God?
• How do you think God is preparing you now to make an impact in your future?
Second we looked at multiple points in Moses’ Story looking at our obedience to God, that he isnt looking for perfection, hes looking for obedience.
How do you think your past helps make an impact on your future?
• Who is your Aaron? Who walks with you in your faith journey?
• Is it easy or hard for you to be obedient to God? The third night we looked at the life of the disciples. The disciples had established lives that they left to follow him. We are called to love God and Love others- part of the Greatest Commandment- but what do we do when life feels against us and it gets really hard to not just love others, but to love God? Why was Jesus looked down upon by other people?
• What does it mean that Jesus came for the sick?
• What is the greatest commandment and why is it important?
The last night we looked at the life of Paul and the story of him going from Saul to Paul. He not only got a new name but a new identity in the Lord. • Is there something in your life you should stop doing? How can you slow down, redirect your thoughts, ask for help, and be humble? When you chose to say yes to Jesus, do you think people saw a difference in you? Up next: Camp 6eight

This Memorial Day, take time to reflect, remember, and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. military.
Memorial Day isn’t just a long weekend to begin summer vacation—it’s a sacred time to recognize the brave men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedoms. Their courage reminds us of the high cost of peace, and their legacy calls us to live with purpose and gratitude.
As followers of Christ, we are reminded of Jesus’ words in John 15:13:
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
Their selfless sacrifice reflects this powerful truth.
Let’s take a moment to pray for the families who grieve, to thank God for the freedoms we take for granted, and to ask how we can live lives that honor both God and those who’ve gone before us.

“‘But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities… the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.’ – Isaiah 53:5
Today we remember the cross—not as a symbol of defeat, but of divine love. Jesus was not on the cross by accident or force; He was there by choice. He bore the weight of our sin, our shame, and our separation from God so that we could be made whole. He bore the cross for a debt that was not his, but for those that he loved.
Good Friday is a solemn reminder: we are deeply loved, eternally forgiven, and freely redeemed through His sacrifice.”

In the face of tragedy, we are called to turn towards God for comfort, strength, and peace. As 2 people lost their lives and 6 injured, join us in praying for everyone affected by the Florida state shooting—families, first responders, and the entire Tallahassee community.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
