On this Memorial Day, the parish family of Saint John pauses to remember and pray for the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and love of country will never be forgotten.

As Catholics, we entrust these heroes to the mercy of Almighty God and pray that Christ, the Prince of Peace, welcome them into eternal rest. We also pray for our active military, veterans, and their families, asking the Lord to strengthen and protect them.

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13

May God bless those who have served, those who continue to serve, and the United States of America.

🌅 Easter Sunday – The Resurrection of the Lord

“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” (Matthew 28:6)

Today, the Church proclaims the greatest truth of our faith: Christ is risen! Death is defeated. Sin is conquered. The tomb is empty.

Easter is not simply a remembrance—it is a reality. Through the Resurrection, Christ opens the way to eternal life and restores hope to the world.

In Lumen Fidei, Pope Francis teaches that the light of faith flows from the Risen Christ, illuminating all of life and guiding us forward.

Let this day renew your faith, strengthen your hope, and deepen your love for the Lord who gave everything for our salvation.

✨ Holy Saturday – Easter Vigil (Mass begins at 8pm)

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)

Tonight, the Church gathers in solemn anticipation for the Easter Vigil, the most sacred liturgy of the year. From the darkness of the tomb, Christ brings forth the light of new life. The Paschal Candle is lit, salvation history is proclaimed, and we rejoice as death is conquered forever.

This night calls us to remember that even in silence, God is at work. What seemed lost is restored. What seemed defeated is redeemed.

Drawing from Spe Salvi, Pope Benedict XVI reminds us that Christian hope is not mere optimism, but a confident trust rooted in Christ’s victory over death.

Come and keep watch with the Church. Stand in the darkness, and witness the light of Christ break forth.

🌑 Holy Saturday (Day of Waiting)

The Church waits in silence at the tomb.

Pope Benedict XVI in Spe Salvi speaks of Christian hope—hope even in darkness.

This day teaches us trust in God’s plan, even when all seems lost.
