This month in GraceKidz, our theme has been “I am here to share Jesus.” 💛

We have spent time learning different ways we can share Jesus with others. A couple weeks ago, we dove into Matthew 13:1–23, the parable of the Farmer and the Seed. Not only did Jesus tell the story, but He also explained what it meant, reminding us that while we plant the seeds, it is God who does the growing.

That week, our Kidz planted real seeds. 🌱 Each child chose someone they want to share Jesus with, wrote their name on a card, and attached it to their plant. Every time they water their plant, they pray for that person.

Tonight, I received a picture from one of our 4th graders and her plant has started to sprout! What a beautiful reminder that we faithfully plant and water, but God is the one who brings growth.

Keep planting those seeds, keep praying, and trust that God is working, even when we cannot yet see it. 🌿✨

Join us at Grace Point Fellowship on Sundays at 9:15am or 11:00am!

Take time today to pray as a family—talk and listen to God. Pray these four things:
1. Thank God that He sent Jesus for us.
2. Ask God to help you obey Him with your thoughts, words, and actions.
3. Pray for one another, that you can honor God with the things you say.
4. Choose one or two other people to pray for—that they would know the truth about who Jesus is and why He came and that this truth would help them want to obey God.

Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Make a hopscotch pattern on the floor, driveway, or sidewalk. Ask, “Can you show me how to play hopscotch?” Say, “There are rules we follow when we play hopscotch, and we play the right way when our actions follow those rules. What kind of actions obey God?”

In Exodus 3–12, Moses, the leader of God’s people, and Pharaoh, the leader of Egypt, showed what it looks like to obey and disobey God with actions. Moses trusted and obeyed God to lead God’s people to freedom from the Egyptians. Pharaoh disobeyed God by refusing to let the people go. We can obey God with our actions, like Moses did. When your preschoolers obey the first time, say, “Thank you for obeying! We can follow and obey God too!”

At dinner, give funny names to familiar items. Call forks, “pokies,” and spoons, “scoopers.” Throughout the meal, call everything by their new, funny names. As you laugh together, talk about how the words we say can bring joy or hurt to others. We can ask God to help us control our words and know that He loves to help us obey Him.

Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Look at an ABC book with your preschooler and talk about it as you read. Ask, “What are some words you like saying?” Say, “We obey God when we use words that encourage and help others. What kinds of things can we say to help others?”

This week preschoolers learned that God helps us with our words. A follower of Jesus named James wrote a letter teaching that our lives can point others to God. (See James 3.) He wrote that our words have power—the power to build up and the power to tear down. Preschoolers learned that controlling what we say helps us follow God all the way. Make an extra effort this week to speak words that build others up, helping your preschoolers see the power godly words have.

“You are my friends if you do what I command you.” (John 15:14)

Raising preschoolers is the perfect example of obedience … and disobedience. While we may grow frustrated when our preschoolers disobey, we can recognize that we also struggle with obedience. None of us obeys God perfectly, but in His love and grace, God continues to give us chances to follow Him. Know that as you follow and obey God’s commands, you are setting an incredible example for your preschoolers of what it means to love God.

Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Show your preschoolers a picture of a thinking emoji. Ask, “Can we try and make our faces match this emoji?” God helps us with our thoughts by giving us His wisdom. We can trust and follow Him. When are times that God can help you with your thoughts?” Talk about how God can help us with our thoughts anytime we ask, especially when we feel worried or upset.

Our Bible story this week was about a wise king named Solomon. When Solomon had the opportunity to ask God for anything, he asked for wisdom. Throughout his life, Solomon made wrong choices, but he also showed the value of knowing and following God’s wisdom. God helps us with our thoughts by giving us His wisdom. Preschoolers can know that God also helps us trust and follow His wisdom. Throughout the week, ask your preschoolers, “What are you thinking about?” Share that God helps us with our thoughts and gives us wisdom to know and follow Him.

Turn over three solid-colored cups on a table or the floor and place small toys or other objects underneath two of the cups. Shuffle the cups around and challenge your preschoolers to guess which cup is empty. Play a few rounds, even allowing your preschoolers to lead the game. Tell your preschoolers that we do not have to guess about the empty tomb. Jesus really did come back to life! The tomb was empty, and we can celebrate that God sent Jesus for us.
