Let’s talk about it. 👇🏽

Surrender sounds beautiful until God asks us to surrender the thing we’ve been trying the hardest to control.

So be honest:

What is hardest for you to place in God’s hands?

You don’t have to explain it.

You don’t have to give details.

Just name it.

Sometimes the first step toward surrender is simply admitting,

“God, this is hard for me to give You.”

And there’s no shame in that.

That’s where trust begins. 🤍

We talked about surrender.

But surrender becomes difficult when control feels safer.

We want to know how everything will work out.

We want to know what’s coming next.

We want to fix it, plan it, protect it, predict it.

But faith doesn’t require us to know everything.

It requires us to trust the One who does.

Sometimes surrender sounds like:

“God, I don’t understand this, but I trust You.”

“I don’t know what’s next, but I know You are already there.”

“I can’t control this, so I’m placing it in Your hands.”

Trust isn’t passive.

Trust is choosing God even when we don’t have all the answers.

What would change if we stopped trying to control what God is asking us to trust Him with?

Sometimes church looks like a message.

Sometimes it looks like worship.

And sometimes… it looks like sitting around a table, talking, laughing, sharing life, and simply being together. 🤍

This weekend wasn’t a traditional service for us. It was fellowship.

And we’re reminded that the Kingdom of God isn’t confined to a building or a Sunday morning.

We need each other.

We need community.

We need spaces where we can be honest, encouraged, challenged, loved, and reminded of who God has called us to be.

There is something powerful about doing life together.

“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.” — Hebrews 10:24

James gives us a specific order: submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee.

Submission isn’t simply agreeing with God’s Word. It’s placing ourselves under His authority.

Today is our Surrender Challenge. 🤎

As we fast and pray, we’re asking the Holy Spirit one simple but searching question:

“Where am I still maintaining control?”

Sometimes we’ve surrendered most of it to God but there’s still that 5% we’re gripping tightly. A relationship. Our children. Our health. Our money. Our plans. Our future. Even our own thoughts.

Today isn’t about condemnation. It’s about allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal what we may not even realize we’re holding onto.

As you fast and pray today, ask Him:
“Lord, what am I still trying to control that You’re asking me to surrender?”

And when He shows you release it.

Sometimes our need for control develops from experiences that have taught us not to trust. We try to manage outcomes, anticipate problems, and protect ourselves from disappointment.

But God calls us to trust Him rather than depend on our own understanding.
