This perennial flower has guided researchers to many abandoned burial grounds that would have otherwise gone undetected. The resilient Periwinkle is a perfect symbol to represent the endurance of enslaved Americans and their legacy.”

Sunday we cleaned up the cemetery and I’m sure next time we will have more volunteers 💗🙏🏼💗

We will be doing a clean up at the cemetery. If anyone has any cordless grass trimmers, rakes, brooms, etc it would be greatly appreciated. Come by and take a walk around this historical landmark with us!

The grave of Emily Elzie. She was one of the early matriarchs here at the Henrico Baltimore Family Cemetery. She was buried by her children in this cemetery with hopes that she would never be forgotten.

We have a display case at the entrance that has pictures of the artifacts found in and around the cemetery when it was first discovered. It also has a map of all of the grave sites that have been found so far.
