Dear friends,

We are so thankful for a great RENEW 2025. We trust that it was a blessing to those of you who were able to attend. Over the years we have had fantastic speakers and workshops, but this year really took the cake! It was quite amazing to see how God brought it all together.

We write this letter today because RENEW Retreat takes a lot of work. With life changes, our current planning committee is shaping up to be smaller than in the past. However, that will not be feasible to plan for 2026. After prayer and consideration, we have come to this realization - we have a couple of choices.

1. Eight of you join the planning team. This would involve attending planning meetings either in-person or virtually throughout 2025, and each woman taking charge of a specific aspect of the retreat (which should not be too large a task, if there are enough women on the planning committee). Without enough women on the planning committee, RENEW 2026 cannot take place.

2. If there is not enough participation for the planning committee, RENEW will take a sabbatical year, after which the future of RENEW would be addressed. The options would be either to continue with a sufficient team, or to disband the RENEW legacy.

3. Disband the RENEW legacy completely at this time.

So, the choice is up to you homeschooling moms, both past and present. Please join in prayer as to where the Lord is leading us. We need you to respond by April 21st, 2025. Are you willing to take up the mantle and help continue RENEW’s impact on the homeschool community?

Planning the RENEW retreat is hard work, but it is also enjoyable. You build relationships and find out what you are capable of doing. The most satisfying part is seeing how God works in your life and the lives of your friends. We would love to do this with you again!

We’ll send out a reminder email one week before the April 21st deadline, but we really need responses sooner rather than later.

Friday night is the traditional before bedtime bingo game!

If you have a white elephant gift you'd like to bring for the prize table, please do. But don't feel you have to bring something in order to play. We have plenty of prizes, and the game is free and open to all attendees!

Free Book Swap - all weekend at the retreat!

If you have books to give away, please bring them for the Book Swap. This is a totally optional activity, and you don’t have to bring books to take books. Fiction, non-fiction, curriculum - all types of books are welcome.

If you bring books, please have them in a box with your name on it so you can easily pick up left-overs at the end of the retreat; this greatly helps the steering committee, and makes the swap possible.

The Prayer Room at RENEW Retreat

For some, God may desire to renew us in cherished time with Him…alone. Connecting, releasing, rejoicing, seeking answers or just listening for His still small voice…only the Lord knows what He has prepared for you during this special date. Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed to His Father…and the results were Kingdom power on earth.

RENEW has secured a special, private prayer space complete with pillows, décor, tissues and soft lighting for those whose hearts long for this type of refilling. The rooms will be open during the entire retreat, but you can also choose a specific period in your schedule to use a prayer room when you register for your workshops.

You are encouraged to bring (or create!) your unique worship/prayer playlist on your phone! Earbuds, if you have them, too!

Pamela Parks is hosting the Friday evening craft for this year's retreat.

Treasure boxes will be created from magazine pages (two sizes to choose from: trinket box, or larger, to put coasters inside).

All materials needed for the craft will be provided, though if you wish to bring your own tools, or color-coordinate your magazine pages, you are welcome to bring whatever materials you prefer.

Established in Peace with Michelle Adserias

Do you ever ask the question, why isn’t there more peace in my home? If so, it might just mean you need a physical atmosphere change. This class shows how important home decor and maintaining beauty to the eye are for creating a peaceful atmosphere. Michelle will show you how it doesn’t have to be complex to make a difference. You can root yourself in new ways to handle your space to have room for the full measure of what the Creator has for our homes.

Michelle Adserias brings more years of experience than she’d like to admit to her work as Today’s Christian Living editor. She is a happy wife and a mom blessed with four grown children. When not at work, she enjoys exploring creation with her camera in hand, playing her old upright piano, and doing hand-embroidery while watching cheesy romance movies. Michelle also maintains a blog and page at www.godponderings.com.

Workshop preview:

Rooted in Healing with Katie Stenglein, CNHP, Herbalist

As a Holistic Health Professional, I look at and help guide my clients toward health in all aspects of their being. As a Christian, the way we view human health is by looking at an individual as one made in God's image. We serve a triune God that tells us that we are made in his image; therefore, we are also 3 parts in one: Body, Soul and Spirit. We are going to take a deeper look at what it looks like to move towards health by working towards wholeness in all three aspects of our being. We will explore and learn about some of the great tools God has given us for healing in nature, through community, prayer and fasting and all the ways he designed us to be nurtured and refreshed.
Katie is a homeschool mom of 2 boys, Oliver and Auggie. She is passionate about investing in those around her and helping people take their next steps towards God's will for their life. She does this through leading Bible discussion groups and teaching how to apply God's Word to daily life. Katie also teaches classes on various health topics where they talk about how to overcome health challenges and take steps towards health using a variety of natural therapies such as healthy diet, hydration, medicinal herbs, vitamins, minerals, red light therapy, and frequency. Katie loves pointing people to the true healer, who is God, and helping them to understand that physical and spiritual healing are not separate, but all part of the same journey.
