Dear preachers,
It's a good time to re-evaluate our motives. With the modern social media platforms, an atmosphere of "views" and "likes" chasing has poisoned the waters. Ask yourself, is what I'm doing on social media truly seeking the lost, seeking to glorify, God, seeking to edify the saints? Or, am I more concerned on checking every hour how many views and likes my post has garnered. Are you ok if you're never invited to preach a revival? Are you ok if none of the preacher's circles know your name? Are you ok if not a single person tells you how much of a blessing your videos or posts are? Do you find yourself wondering why this preacher or that preacher gets invited, but you never do? If a spotlight needs to be placed on you or your ministry, let God do it. He doesn't need your help, or the help of the religious crowd to do it. We should get back to "blooming where we are planted", to serving in the shadows, going where He sends you. Popularity is a stepping stone to pride, then to destruction. The greater the popularity, the greater the magnifying glass is on your life, the greater the pressure to perform. And when you transgress in the slightest way the greater it will be magnified. And if you fall in popularity, your fall will be greater, more damage will be done, more reproach will be brought to the name of Jesus. Let's serve Jesus in sincerity, in secret, in the places he puts us, and stop trying to rob Him of His glory!
