The ovens have been working overtime!

Thanks to the watchful eye and impeccable pie standards of Pie Day organizer extraordinaire Dan Beaupre, St. Stephen’s bakers have been hard at work in the church kitchen turning mountains of fruit into delicious pies for Peasant Market. Rumor has it the pies are so good they may disappear faster than you can say “à la mode.”

Come claim yours -- and hunt for treasures galore -- at Peasant Market, tomorrow, Saturday July 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Middlebury Town Green. You’ll find everything from camping and sports equipment to toys, kitchenware, linens, antiques, jewelry and plenty of surprises. Don’t forget to check out the silent auction while you’re there!

Everything you purchase at Peasant Market helps fund grants for local nonprofits.

Be sure to stop by the Deal of the Day booth during Peasant Market, 9-1 on Saturday, July 11 at the Middlebury Town Green, for a chance to bid on two fantastic boats!

One is a hand-built beauty by a generous donor, measuring 12' × 5' and including an outboard motor and handcart. The purchaser will need to bring a trailer to take it away. This boat will be sold via silent auction, so don't miss your opportunity to place a bid. A donated Sunfish-style sailboat will also be offered.

And remember, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church gives every penny of profit from Peasant Market to the community in the form of grants to local non-profits.
