America turned 250 this year and Troop NC2206 is celebrating! 🔔🇺🇸

At our upcoming kickoff meeting, our girls will step back into 1776, explore how life has changed over the last 250 years, and discover some of the history and Scripture behind one of America’s most recognizable symbols of liberty: the Liberty Bell.

Throughout the evening, girls will take part in hands-on activities, games, service, and a little friendly competition as they work toward the AHG Semiquincentennial Event Patch! 🇺🇸

We’ll also look ahead to the future by creating a 2026 Troop Time Capsule, capturing what life is like for our girls during this historic anniversary year.

One of the things we’re especially excited to explore is the Scripture inscribed on the Liberty Bell:

“Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.” — Leviticus 25:10

It’s going to be an evening of faith, history, service, and fun as we celebrate 250 YEARS! ❤️🤍💙

Why do we volunteer?

Because we have nothing else fit for a king.

“Let the little children come to me…” — Matthew 19:14

Our time is something precious we can give in His name.

That’s why we serve in American Heritage Girls.

During our Information Meeting, a few of our girls shared what they love most about American Heritage Girls and we couldn’t have said it better ourselves. 🥰

There’s something special about hearing AHG through their eyes: the friendships, the adventures, the fun, and the memories they’re making along the way.

We love seeing their excitement for AHG and watching them grow together! 🇺🇸✨

Six months ago, we opened the doors to our very first AHG meeting.

We had calendars, badges, service projects, and big plans for our girls.

We thought we were building a troop.

Six months later, I think God was building something much bigger.

So, in honor of six months, here are six blessings that can’t be measured by badges on a vest.

1. The moms found something, too.
One of our moms recently said, “I joined for my daughter, but you moms have been a saving grace.”

None of us came looking for ourselves. We wanted our daughters to find friendship, faith, and a place to belong. Somewhere along the way, some of us found that, too.

2. The friendships have grown beyond our troop meetings. Recently, a mom sent me a picture of some of our girls practicing volleyball together outside of AHG.

No uniforms. No meeting. Just some of our girls choosing to spend time together. They aren’t just troop members anymore. They’re becoming part of each other’s lives.

3. I’ve watched it change my own daughter and me.

I’m a Troop Coordinator, but before any title, I’m her mom. I’ve watched my daughter grow closer to Christ through AHG. And somehow, while that was happening, she and I grew closer, too.

Someday she won’t need me standing beside her at these meetings. Right now, I’m incredibly grateful that I get to.

4. Our girls are learning that they don’t have to be grown to make a difference. They’re serving their community now; learning to notice others, give their time, and use their own hands to help.

We’re planting seeds of service that we pray they’ll carry long after they’ve outgrown their uniforms.

5. We’re watching girls discover what they’re capable of. They’re trying new things. Speaking up. Leading. Helping younger girls. Doing things that once made them nervous and realizing, “I can do this.”

We’re not just preparing them for the next meeting. We’re preparing them for the women they’ll become.

6. Six months ago, most of us were strangers. There were no shared memories. No inside jokes. No pictures of our girls together. No moms checking on one another. No “remember when…”

There wasn’t an us yet.

Now there is.

We thought we were just starting a troop.

God was building friendships, strengthening mothers and daughters, teaching little hands to serve, drawing girls closer to Him, and turning strangers into a family.

The badges will fill their vests.
The uniforms will eventually be outgrown.
The girls themselves will grow up.

But I pray they carry this with them.

And tonight, we’re opening those same doors again.

Maybe six months from now, we’ll look back and realize tonight was the night a few more strangers became part of our family.

We hope you’ll walk through those doors and join us. ❤️🤍💙
