Middleburg United Methodist Church is a historic town church, built in 1856, looking forward to a dynamic future. We enjoy ministry in a beautiful small community while looking for and participating in ways to reach out to others in the region and throughout the world. Our church offers much to those who seek to learn and grow in faith while at the same time participating in various

ministries. For many, our church is a place to rest and catch their breath after experiencing much turmoil in their life. For others, it is an opportunity to work in ministries allowing them to put into practice the faith they have grown into over the years, and yet for still others, it is a time and place to learn, grow and come closer to God. We are a church where one can feast on God's sacraments and savor the Almighty's word. Middleburg United Methodist Church is a place to meet and experience the living God. We welcome all who wish to accompany us upon this transforming journey.

✨ Thought of the Week – April 12 ✨

“Jesus wants to meet you where you are… even in your doubt.”

So often we think we have to have it all together before we come to God—strong faith, steady belief, no questions asked. But the story of Thomas the Apostle reminds us that’s simply not true.

Thomas doubted. He questioned. He needed to see and touch to believe. And instead of turning him away, Jesus met him right there—in the middle of his uncertainty.

The good news for us?
We don’t have to hide our doubts, our fears, or our questions. Jesus meets us in them.

Wherever you are today—faithful, uncertain, hopeful, or struggling—know this:
You are not too far, too late, or too unsure for Jesus to come near.

💛 Come as you are. He’s already meeting you there.

❤️ Holy Week – Day 3: The Great Commandment ❤️

Today we reflect on Jesus’ simple yet powerful words from Mark 12:
Love God. Love others.

In a world that often feels complicated, Jesus reminds us that what matters most is beautifully clear—love with your whole heart, and share that love with those around you. 💛

💡 Today’s Invitation:
Look for a way to show “neighbor love.”
Have your children (or join them!) in making a simple card for someone who may need encouragement—a friend, neighbor, teacher, or family member. Add drawings, kind words, and a simple message: “You are loved.” Then deliver it this week!

🙏 Prayer:
“Lord, open our eyes to the neighbors around us who need to experience Your love through us. Amen.”

Let’s be people who live out radical love—not just in words, but in action. 💌

Holy Week – Day 2: Clearing the Way ✨

Today we pause and reflect on a beautiful moment from John 12:3, where Mary anoints Jesus with costly perfume—an act of deep love, humility, and worship. 💛

So often, life feels busy and crowded. We are constantly doing, going, and giving. But today reminds us to slow down and make space—to offer something to Jesus, just as Mary did.

🫧 Today’s Invitation:
Take time as a family to “clear the way.”
Clean a small space, or write down the things that may be crowding out your time with God—worry, busyness, distractions. Then crumple them up and “blow” them away as a symbol of making room for Him.

🙏 Prayer:
“Holy God, give us the courage to clear away whatever keeps us from true worship.”

Let today be a gentle reset—a chance to create space for what matters most. 💫

All are welcome!
