🌸 THE MORNING GLORY 🌸
This morning I noticed this beautiful morning glory vine climbing along the fence, and the symbolism grabbed me.
Morning glories open toward the morning light. They are often associated with awakening, renewal, hope, and new beginnings.
Immediately I thought about:
“His mercies are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22–23
There is something powerful about a flower that essentially wakes up and turns toward the light.
And maybe somebody needs that reminder today:
Turn toward the Light again.
Yesterday does not get to dictate what God can do with today. There is fresh mercy available. Fresh strength. Fresh perspective. Fresh opportunity to bloom.
But then I noticed something else.
The vine was climbing the fence.
The fence could have been viewed as a barrier, something restricting its movement. Instead, the vine used the very thing standing in its way as support to climb higher.
WHEW.
Some of the things you thought were designed to stop you may become the very structures God uses to strengthen you, mature you, teach you, and elevate you.
The obstacle does not always have to disappear for you to grow.
Sometimes you learn how to climb it.
And a vine can only keep climbing when it remains connected.
Jesus said:
“Abide in me, and I in you… for without me ye can do nothing.”
John 15:4–5
Growth is not simply about trying harder.
It is about remaining connected to the Source.
Stay connected to Christ.
Stay rooted in His Word.
Stay sensitive to His Spirit.
Stay positioned.
And keep climbing.
There is another lesson hidden in the morning glory: its individual blossoms do not last forever. It reminds us that earthly beauty, seasons, opportunities, and even life itself are temporary.
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
Isaiah 40:8
So bloom while God has you here.
Love deeply.
Obey quickly.
Build what He told you to build.
Become who He called you to become.
And don’t despise the place where you’ve been planted.
Because apparently even a fence can become a trellis when you’re determined to grow. 🌸
New mercy.
New morning.
New growth.
Turn toward the Light.
Stay attached to the Vine.
Keep climbing.
And BLOOM where God has positioned you.
Sometimes creation preaches before we ever open our mouths. 💗
