As we do every year, this past November Advent Lutheran Church donated 31 shoe boxes filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items for the Operation Christmas Child project supported by Samaritan’s Purse. They were brought to a drop off location in Swansea, pictured here, where they were collected and prayed over before their long journey to their recipients. These are the locations where boxes from our area have been sent in past years. We are proud to continue to participate in such a worthy cause that is there to help people in need across the globe.

This Spring and Summer Advent church has been very busy!! We collected paper party goods, candles, cake and frosting in order to create 44 new birthday bags for local shelters. This program helps parents in these shelters have what is needed to give their child a birthday party. 🥳 At Advent, we believe that every child deserves to be celebrated!! Each shelter received a supply of baby shower party goods for expectant mothers, as well as the birthday party bags for elementary aged children. Conway House in Middleboro received 22 bags and Ruth house in Brockton also received 22 bags. Happy Birthday from your friends at Advent Lutheran Church. 🎉

Backpack project is complete. We collected and filled 23 backpacks! 🎒 Fifteen of the backs went to provide school supplies for children of Conway House shelter in Middleboro, and eight went to Ruth house shelter for young women, so that they can continue their education. All backpacks have been delivered and the start of the new school year is here! Thank you advent congregation for all your help! 📚✂️✏️
