I have been hypothesizing, criticizing and analyzing what it means to be an "Ancient Astronaut Theorist". An Ancient Astronaut Theorist in the sense of taking it as a religious stance. I use the word religious loosely, not for the fact that you could seriously consider this as a religious belief, but for the fact that religion implies an institution. So I was thinking: "What makes me an Ancient
As
tronaut Theorist? What exactly does an Ancient Astronaut Theorist believe? How does an Ancient Astronaut Theorist practice their faith?"
Broadly, I consider someone an Ancient Astronaut Theorist if they believe that extraterrestrial being visited earth and then later humans in the past. Also, not only did they visit ancient humans, but they drastically molded the outcome of humanity that we see today. Furthermore, an Ancient Astronaut Theorist believes it may have been possible that humans were even genetically engineered by the "gods". This engineering could have also been a modified version of their own DNA, "created in the likeness of god". Finally, one huge belief is that most if not all major world religions are based off of real life interactions with extraterrestrials in the past. All the stories, myths, gospel ect from Gilgamesh of the Sumerian's text all the way to modern day beliefs of Jesus, Mohammed, ect are all based off of the best possible interpretation of these encounters. As far as practicing of any type, I believe a practicing Ancient Astronaut Theorist simply keeps an open mind to everything, with a particular focus on space exploration and the continued understanding of the Universe(as seen by the focus of most of my posts). I would imagine it is much like how modern day Pagans practice hundreds of variants of nature based religions. In simple terms, the way you practice is the right way, as long as you have the basic core believe that Ancient Aliens truly do/did exist and visited humans.
