It’s Resurrection Sunday. The day that changed history. The day Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death and the grave forever. Women followers of Jesus came to His grave early Sunday morning to anoint Jesus’ body. When they got there, they saw an angel that told the women the tomb was empty. Jesus had risen from the dead. AMAZING!!!

Our Resurrected Savior had overcome satan and the claim sin has on our lives. He made a way for us to be restored to our Heavenly Father for eternity. Every one of us is born a sinner. Sin separates us from our holy God who can’t be in the presence of sin. And there is nothing we can do to restore that relationship and overcome our sin problem. We are destined for eternity in hell. But God loves us so much, He willingly chose to sacrifice His only son on the cross to take on the punishment for our sin. Jesus died for us. He offers us eternal life in heaven. What decision will you make?
WIll you choose the world or Jesus?
Will you choose eternity in hell or eternity in heaven?
Will you choose salvation in Jesus?

The choice you make about Jesus is the most important choice you will make. Jesus loves you and is ready for you to fully come to Him and enter HIs kingdom as a child of God. Are you ready to choose Jesus?

It’s Saturday of Holy Week. The week that changed history. The week Jesus died for our sin so we could be saved, restored to God, and live eternally with Him in heaven. Jesus died on Friday afternoon and was given a proper Jewish burial by Joseph of Arimethea. When Jesus was arrested His disciples scattered. They were afraid that Rome would come to arrest them next. Saturday brought silence, questions, and confusion. The followers of Jesus couldn’t understand what had happened to their Messiah. They thought Jesus was supposed to establish an earthly kingdom and free the Jews from Roman rule. But Jesus came for a different reason not yet understood by His followers.

The disciples and followers of Jesus choose to remain silent and unsure when they couldn’t see or hear Jesus. They were bold and committed when Jesus was right beside them, but they started second guessing their faith and commitment when Jesus seemed silent and far away. There are times when Jesus feels silent and far away in our lives. We question His plan and purpose in our lives and situations. In these times, it is easy to pull away from Jesus and choose not to trust Him. But just like God was still working on that Saturday, God walks beside us daily and is working in our lives even when He feels silent or distant. In the times where we feel God isn’t as close to us, we have a choice to make. We can choose to forge our own path in the darkness or we can choose to put all we are into the hands of God and trust what He has planned for our lives or situations. Are you ready to choose Jesus?

It’s Friday of Holy Week. The week that changed history. The week Jesus died for our sin so we could be saved, restored to God, and live eternally with Him in heaven. Early Friday morning after His arrest, Jesus was tried by the Jewish religious leaders and then by the Romans. The religious leaders accused Jesus of blasphemy and sentenced Him to death but could only kill someone with Roman approval. After Pilate tried to free Jesus, the Jews threatened to riot unless Jesus was crucified. So Pilate gave in and sent Jesus to the cross. Jesus was beaten, flogged, mocked, spit at, and laughed at. Jesus was almost killed during this time of intense torture. He couldn’t even carry His cross to the place of crucifixion because He was so weak.

On Friday of Holy Week, Jesus was nailed on the cross. He experienced separation from His Father and he took on the sins of the world. All the sins from before and all the sins that would come. My sins and your sins. He carried the weight of our shame and regret. He bore it all.

Jesus made a choice to enter into a period of incredible suffering, intense persecution, and separation from His Father to change the fate of humanity forever. At any point Jesus could have stopped the trials and tribulations. But he willingly chose to endure our sins so that we could be restored in our relationship with God. Jesus paid the ultimate and final price of sin forever on the cross. He chose to suffer for us to be saved. To receive salvation, freedom from sin, and eternal life in heaven, we have a simple choice to make. We must recognize we are sinners, believe Jesus died for our sins, and surrender our hearts to Him. A simple choice that will change your life for eternity. Are you ready to choose Jesus?

It’s Thursday of Holy Week. The week that changed history. The week Jesus died for our sin so we could be saved, restored to God, and live eternally with Him in heaven. There are lots of things that happen as we move toward Friday. Jesus ate the Passover meal with His disciples that we know as the Last Supper. He washed their feet, a job meant to be done by a slave, to show them how to serve others. He had the first communion with His disciples and taught them that the bread represented His body broken for them and the wine represented His blood spilled for them. After this meal, where Jesus taught His disciples for the last time, Jesus agonized in the Garden of Gethsemane. He cried out to God to remove this suffering but told His Father that His will be done.

Jesus made a choice that night to follow God’s will for His life. Jesus was fully God and fully man. He could have made the choice not to undergo the suffering He was about to experience. Jesus was under incredible emotional stress that night in the garden. But He chose to seek the will of His Father and walk obediently on the path God set before Him. What an overwhelming choice. We face the choice of walking on our own path or walking in obedience to our Father. Some days this choice is easy and some days it will take all of our strength. Will you choose to trust God, seek His will, and obey His guidance each day? Will you choose Jesus to guide you in all things daily?

It’s Wednesday of Holy Week. The week that changed history. The week Jesus died for our sin so we could be saved, restored to God, and live eternally with Him in heaven. On Wednesday the Bible doesn’t specifically say what Jesus did on this day. My study Bible indicated he possibly could have spent time with His disciples in Bethany.

I like to think Jesus chose to spend time with his closest friends and loved ones on the last day before He faced being arrested, tried, and crucified. He chose to enjoy precious earthly time with those He had shared life with on earth. Family and friends are a blessing from God. Jesus knew this and chose to encourage those relationships before he faced intense suffering and death. We can choose to pursue godly relationships in our lives. Surrounding ourselves with godly friends, family, and church members encourages our relationship with Jesus and strengthens our faith. Who do you choose to surround yourself with? Are you choosing godly influences in your life? Are you ready to make Jesus the center of all of your relationships?

It’s Tuesday of Holy Week. The week that changed history. The week Jesus died for our sin so we could be saved, restored to God, and live eternally with Him in heaven. Jesus teaches in Jerusalem and confronts the hypocrisy and hardened hearts of the Pharisees and religious leaders like never before. Judas, one of Jesus’ disciples, meets with these leaders and agrees to betray Jesus and help the leaders arrest Him.

Holy Week is full of choices. Judas made a choice that altered the course of his life. He chose to turn against the teacher he had followed for the past 3 years. He chose to betray the Messiah who had performed miracles and healed many. We don’t know why Judas would make that choice. Maybe he thought he could force Jesus’ hand into being the earthly king the Jews thought would free them from Roman oppression. Maybe he was just greedy.

We often make choices that lead us away from God. We make decisions based on our own feelings instead of taking those decisions to God. I am guilty of this everyday. But how wonderful it is that we have a Savior who loves us despite this. Jesus died for our sins and there is nothing that can separate us from His love. Not any of our past choices. Not anything we have done or experienced will stop Jesus from loving us. If we recognize Him as our Savior and follow Him, Jesus erases all of our transgressions and draws us into an eternal relationship with Him that brings healing and restoration. Don’t let your misguided choices keep you from experiencing the love of our Risen Savior. Are you ready to choose Jesus?

It’s Monday of Holy Week. The week that changed history. The week Jesus died for our sin so we could be saved, restored to God, and live eternally with Him in heaven. On Monday of Holy Week, Jesus confronts the merchants and moneychangers in the temple who were exploiting the Jewish people coming to offer sacrifices to God.

Jesus boldly chose to defend His Father in His Father’s house. He refused to let people misuse the place Jews came to worship God and give Him glory. We are called to be like Jesus and boldly defend our faith even when it is unpopular or hard. We are to bring glory to God with our words, actions, and feelings. Do you choose to defend God boldly in a broken and sinful world that wants to pull you further from Jesus? Each day we have a choice to make. We can choose to fully surrender to God and boldly defend Jesus even when it is hard. Or we can surrender to the world and choose not to make Jesus a priority in our lives. What choice will you make? Are you ready to choose Jesus?
