Day 19 of 21
The glory revealed

Today’s subject: the power of prayer

Verse of the day:
1 Thessalonians 5:16
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

The Power Of Prayer
The most powerful people on the face of this earth are those who have learned how to pray. Not people who merely believe in prayer or talk about prayer — but people who take time to pray.
Prayer is that holy communication with heaven that creates an atmosphere for God’s presence … and the Devil’s python strategy is to stop or hinder that communication. Our greatest weapon is prayer. Prayer is the power on earth that moves the power in heaven. Prevailing prayer is the key. It is that consistent, insistent, continual life of communication with God. It is not something you do; it is a part of who you are. Through prayer, fasting, and faith, you can move heaven.
Jesus taught two important things about prayer: pattern and persistence. How did Jesus know what God wanted? He made a habit of praying (Luke 5:16). The Son of God did nothing on His own – he always prayed. Jesus also taught us to ask, seek, and knock through prayer (Matthew 7:8) with persistence.

Today’s challenge:
Pray for what the Lord put on your heart.

Day 18 of 21
The glory revealed

Today’s subject: praying in the spirit
Verse of the day:

1 Corinthians 14:1-2
Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, and especially that you may prophesy. 2 For the person who speaks in a tongue[a] is not speaking to people but to God, since no one understands him; he speaks mysteries in the Spirit

The benefits of praying in tongues

When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you receive a gift from God—the gift of speaking (or praying) in tongues. It is a powerful gift that every believer should desire. In fact, here are five benefits to praying in tongues:
1. Praying in Tongues Allows You to Speak Directly to God
“For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.” –1 Corinthians 14:2
When you pray in tongues, you are praying God’s will, directly to Him. It allows your mind to get out of the way so your spirit can commune with the Father.
2. Praying in Tongues Keeps You in Tune With the Holy Spirit
“And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.” –Acts 2:4
Tongues is a gift from God. It allows you to pray the will of God by the empowering of the Holy Spirit. When you pray in tongues, you are yielding to the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. Then you are allowing that same Spirit to pray through you, so you are in tune with Him.
3. Praying in Tongues Strengthens Your Spirit
“A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church.” –1 Corinthians 14:4
Praying in tongues builds you up spiritually and helps you to live a Spirit-led life.
4. Praying in Tongues Allows You to Pray Even When You Don’t Know What to Pray
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” –Romans 8:26
Even when you don’t know how or what to pray, you can still pray…in tongues. You can trust your spirit to pray the perfect will of God, regardless of the situation.
5. Praying in Tongues Is a Weapon Against the Work of the Enemy
“And then he told them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved.… These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.… They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.’” –Mark 16:15-18

Day 16 of 21
The glory revealed

Today’s subject: Family

2 Samuel 7:29
Now, please bless your servant’s house so that it will continue before you forever. For you, Lord God, have spoken, and with your blessing your servant’s house will be blessed forever

Apart from religious influence, the family is the most important unit of society. It would be good if every home were Christian, but we know that it is not so. The family and the home can never exert their proper influence while ignoring the biblical standard. The Bible calls for discipline and a recognition of authority. If children do not learn this at home, they will go out into society without the proper attitude toward authority and law. There is always the exceptional child, but the average tells us that the child is largely what the home has made him. The only way to provide the right home for your children is to put the Lord above them, and fully instruct them in the ways of the Lord. You are responsible before God for the home you provide for them. (Billy Graham)

Prayer Points:

1. Father, I commit my family and its members unto Your able hands! Guide and lead every member of my family! Wherever they go, Lord, go before them in Jesus' powerful name.

2. Lord, be the shield and rod for every member of my family! Never let the plans of the evil one materialise in their lives in Jesus’ name!

3. I cover each and every member of my family with the Blood of Jesus! (Name them) Father, shield them from the arrows of the enemy!

4. Almighty God, the One who decrees a thing and it comes to pass, I put my family in Your care. We hide under Your umbrella of protection in Jesus’ name.

5. I decree according to God’s Holy Word that no evil shall befall my family! No plague shall come near our dwelling place in the name of Jesus!

6. Father, because You are our only shield, keep my family away from every evil eye. When a thousand falls at the right hand, it shall not come near us in Jesus’ name!

7. I declare that there shall be no loss for my family in every facet of life: career, marriage, business , work, children etc ( name them) in Jesus’ name.

8. Jehovah God please render every attack of the enemy against my family invalid. Nothing shall stop us in the name of Jesus.

9. I plead the Blood of Jesus over every road that my family passes!

10. Thank You my most able Father for my family! For protecting every member of my household, Lord, I give you all the praise in Jesus’ name

Prayer:
We say together, today as we pray according to Genesis 6:8, that our only hope is in finding favor before you. And we confess there’s nothing we can do to earn your favor.
There’s no amount of works we could do to overcome our sin and the evil that is in our hearts, the tendencies in our heart to turn from you. We praise you, oh God, that you have shown favor to us, that you have sent your son to die on the cross for our sins, that he’s risen from the grave. That he’s ascended on high, that through faith in him, we are clothed in his righteousness and filled with his spirit. And you look upon us as your sons and daughters with favor before you, our Father in Heaven.

Day 10 of 21
The glory revealed

Today’s subject:
Shine your face on us

Verse of the day:
Isaiah 42:8
I am the Lord. That is my name, and I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols

Read:
Exodus 34-35
Shine your face on us

May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine on us —
so that your ways may be known on earth,
your salvation among all nations” (Ps 67: 1 – 2).

The psalmist is praying for the Lord’s blessing, for the benefit of the nations around them. So, too, can we pray for the Lord’s blessing for the benefit of those people around us. As we walk in fellowship with Him, living in His light, drawing on His daily grace, we can pray that the presence of a Holy God may be noticed by our neighbours. Our family. Our place of work.

“The Lord’s face shone on Moses with unique effect: ‘When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD’” (Ex 34: 29).
Our faces may not glow from reading God’s Word or because we have spent time with Him in prayer, but we should expect His Presence to change us. And that change to be noticed by those in our orbit. Paul reminds us that we leak the aroma of Christ (in 2 Cor 2: 15) and Jesus told his followers that they were the light of the world (Matt 5: 14).
We are the vessels God chooses for His ways to be known on earth, a beacon of hope for the nations.

Prayer:
Continue to pray Number 6:24-26

- “May the Lord bless you and protect you;

- may the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;

- may the Lord look with favor on you
and give you peace.”
