Thank you so much to everyone who helped, donated, prayed, planned, cooked, cleaned, worked, and supported Camp Michigamme during our Memorial Day Work Retreat. We are incredibly grateful for the energy, generosity, and encouragement that made the weekend such a success.

During the retreat, we heard from many people that they are not receiving our emails and updates. We want to make sure everyone who wants to stay connected is able to do so.

The countdown is on! Camp Michigamme’s first work retreat begins in just 4 days, and we are excited for a wonderful weekend of service, fellowship, and progress.

We are currently seeking monetary donations to help cover food and miscellaneous supplies for volunteers during the retreat. Anything extra will go in the District's Camp Michigamme account for future camp repairs. We were blessed by a large donation to cover all building materials needed for this weekend’s projects. The retreat is scheduled from Saturday, May 23, at 1:00 p.m. through Monday, May 25, at noon. If you are able to join us for any part of the weekend, or for the entire retreat, we would love to have you. You can register here: Retreat Registration Form

In addition to the physical work projects, we will also spend time together in discussion and brainstorming as we begin developing a sustainable vision and plan for Camp Michigamme’s future. This weekend is not only about repairs and improvements—it is about building a strong foundation for the generations to come.

Memorial Day Work Retreat! Saturday, May 23 to Monday, May 25

We’ve waited. We’ve prayed. We’ve waited and prayed some more. And now we need you—every single one of you. It’s time to show that the churches, community, and every person whose heart has been touched by Camp Michigamme are ready to rise up and serve.

We have one summer to plan and execute everything required to ensure Camp Michigamme will be sustainable for another hundred years and beyond. Time is short, so we are mobilizing NOW, and our first work retreat is only 10 days away. Organizing volunteers, planning projects, sourcing materials, arranging meals, child care, lodging: friends, we know how many details there are to work out. We are full of energy and determination, and we believe this will happen, but we can do nothing without YOU.

Since our first communication, many people have asked the question, “Who is the Worship, Work, and Play Team?” The answer is pretty simple–it’s EVERYBODY who loves Camp Michigamme and is willing to take action to help!

From the newly-formed Steering Committee/Worship, Work, and Play Team:

Praise the Lord . . . Camp Michigamme has new life!
The motion to sell camp one week ago failed in a 60/40 split. Because of the CM community, camp still has a future.
Volunteers, families, and supporters are at the heart of this next chapter, and we’d love for you to be part of it. There’s a lot to be done before we present at the District Conference in August regarding the future of Camp Michigamme, so we need your help! Whether you were last involved at camp five months, five years, or five decades ago, you can be part of its future.
Camp Michigamme does indeed have a bright future, but it’s going to take the entire community to make it happen. Before we will be able to once again “dedicate our lives in service to a needy world today,” we must first rededicate our lives in service to Camp Michigamme.

Thank you to everyone who attended one or more of the Camp Michigamme listening sessions. In the next few weeks, the task force will present its findings to the Northern Skies District Leadership Team. At some point in March, after everything has been thoroughly reviewed, the District Leadership Team will announce the future of Camp Michigamme. We ask that you please keep the District Leadership Team in your prayers.
