First Baptist Church of Micanopy

First Baptist Church of Micanopy First Baptist Church of Micanopy is a Southern Baptist Church, a lighthouse shining the light of Jesus to Micanopy, Florida, and surrounding areas.

We enjoy fellowship, are dedicated to Bible Study, prayer, Missions and Social Ministry. The Micanopy Baptist Church was organized in 1832, and the first building was erected in 1860. It was torn down in 1866 and replaced in the 1880s. During the following year, the Women's Missionary Union was organized in the second building. In the 1960s, the second church building was outgrown and replaced by

the current church building on Cholokka Blvd. During the middle 2000s, the Micanopy congregation lost control of the church building but, as of June 2, 2013, the building was reacquired.

We had a great first night of VBS as we began studing about knowing our Guide, Jesus. Tonight we will be learning about following our Guide.

Thank you to everyone for helping, teaching, serving food, learning, singing, doing crafts, leading, participating and more!
