Final Day in Guatemala 🇬🇹

Today was our last full day before heading home, and it gave us time to soak in all that this week has meant. We spent the day exploring Antigua, visiting local shops, finding souvenirs, and enjoying the beauty and history of this incredible city.

This evening, we gathered for our final dinner & reflection together. We shared stories from the week, talked about the moments that impacted us most, and wrote messages of encouragement and appreciation to one another. It was a meaningful reminder of how much we’ve experienced together in just a few short days.

As we prepare to return home, we do so with grateful hearts—for the people we’ve met, the work we’ve done, the lessons we’ve learned, and the relationships we’ve built. Thank you for following along and for all of your prayers throughout this journey.

Day 4 in Guatemala 🇬🇹

Today was our final day at the school site, and we made the most of every moment. We mixed a lot of concrete, tackled some tough work, and worked side by side as a team. It was hard, physical labor, but our youth and adults showed up with incredible energy, positive attitudes, and willing hearts.

We celebrated with the community during a closing ceremony filled with games, dances, laughter, and joy. In the afternoon, we also enjoyed a community market that brought everyone together and showcased the creativity of local families.

As our time in this community comes to a close, we are grateful not only for the work we accomplished, but for the relationships we built. We came to help build a school, but we leave with friendships, memories, and a deeper appreciation for this community and its people.

Tour Day in Guatemala 🇬🇹

Today was a day full of beauty, adventure, and fun. We traveled by boat across the stunning Lake Atitlán, explored the colorful streets of San Juan La Laguna, visited a women’s weaving cooperative, and enjoyed time shopping, exploring, and taking in the local culture.

From vibrant murals and handmade textiles to breathtaking lake views, San Juan was bursting with life and color at every turn. Even the long bus rides became part of the adventure as we took in the beauty of the Guatemalan countryside.

Our hearts are full, our camera rolls are fuller, and we’re grateful for a day filled with beauty, laughter, and connection.

Day 2 in Guatemala 🇬🇹

Today was a day of learning, connection, and community. We continued our work on the school project, but we also had the opportunity to learn from the people who call this community home.

During a community walk, we learned about traditional weaving, how tortillas are made, and gained a deeper understanding of daily life for families in the village. We also heard a powerful presentation about migration and the complex reasons many Guatemalans make the difficult journey to the United States.

Of course, some of the best moments came through simple connection—playing soccer, laughing, and spending time with the children in the community.

Each day reminds us that this experience is about more than building a school. It is about listening, learning, and building relationships.
