11:00 a.m. If you wish to make any donations to the church, please mail them to the church at the stated address above. Please make checks payable to Our Lady of Sorrows. Dates are available for Mass Intentions; please remember that we do not have "Collective Masses"; all Masses are individual. Please do not request specific dates for Masses unless it is an Anniversary Requiem Mass. Should there be a conflict with a date, we will schedule the Mass for the nearest date. The Mass Stipend amount is optional. We will acknowledge receipt of your Mass request. MONTHLY CANDLES
We have within the church many statues and pictures to Our Lord, Our Lady and a good number of saints. If you wish to have a monthly candle burning for your intentions before your favorite devotion, please send your request to us at the above stated address. Please include the devotion desired [ex.: Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Sorrows, St. Joseph etc.] and your intention. The candle will burn for an entire month's period [ex.: if we receive your request in the middle of the month, the candle will be kept burning for you to the middle of the following month.] We ask a donation of ten dollars [$10] per month per candle requested. Please make checks payable to Our Lady of Sorrows. Acknowledgement of receipt of request[s] will be sent to you. Below is a partial listing of statues and pictures available:

I heard someone say a few days ago, “See, that just goes to show you that you can raise your kids in church all you want to, but……” and it literally shattered my heart. All because that kid had made a mistake. All because that kid’s sin was brought to light.

Let me just tell you…… We don’t raise our kids in church so they can grow up perfect. We don’t raise our kids in church because it magically makes them unable to sin or holier-than-thou.

We do however raise our kids in church so WHEN they mess up and WHEN they fall short, they know just who to run to. So they know that their Lord and Savior will NEVER leave nor forsake them no matter how big or small their mess up might be.

So they know their Heavenly Father will always leave the 99 if they are that ONE that needs saving.
So they will know what grace is like and give it out freely.

So they will know the unconditional love of their Father and love those around them just the same regardless of anything else.

So they know that there is absolutely NOTHING in this world they could do that our Saviors blood hasn’t already covered.

I will never apologize for raising my children in church. I will never apologize for making sure our family makes church a priority over anything else. Because it’s more than just a song and a sermon. It’s more than just a memorized Bible verse in Sunday School. It’s for when this cruel world we live in comes knocking on their door, they personally know the solid rock on which they stand.

El diablo se apareció a tres monjes y les dijo:
Si os diera el poder de cambiar algo en el pasado, ¿qué cambiaríais?

El primero de ellos, con gran fervor apostólico, respondió:
“Quisiera impedir que condujeras a Adán y an Eva al pecado, para que la humanidad no se separe de Dios”.

El segundo, un hombre lleno de misericordia, le dijo:
"Yo evitaré que te apartes de Dios y te condenes para siempre”.

El tercero de ellos fue el más sencillo y en lugar de responder al tentador, se arrodilló, se santiguó y oró:
"Señor, líbrame de la tentación de lo que pudo haber sido y de lo que no fue".

El demonio, gritando y temblando de dolor, huyó.
Los otros dos se sorprendieron y le dijeron: "Hermano, ¿por qué reaccionaste así?. "
Y él les respondió:

"Primero, NUNCA deberíamos hablar con el enemigo".

En segundo lugar, NADIE en el mundo tiene el poder de cambiar el pasado.

Tercero: El INTERÉS de Satanás no era demostrar nuestra virtud, sino mantenernos en el pasado, para descuidar el presente, único momento en el que Dios nos da su gracia y podemos cooperar con ella para hacer su voluntad.

De todos los demonios, el que más frena a los hombres y les impide ser felices es "lo que pudo haber sido y lo que no pudo haber sido". El pasado queda a la Misericordia de Dios y el futuro a Su Providencia. Pero el presente está en Su amor. Vive hoy amando a Dios con todo tu corazón.

“If you were given the power to change something in the past, what would you change?”
The first of them, with great apostolic fervor, answered:

"I would like to prevent you from leading Adam and Eve into sin, so that mankind would not be separated from God."

The second, a man full of mercy, said unto him:
"I will keep you from turning away from God and condemning yourself forever. "

The third of them was the simplest and instead of answering the temptor, he knelt down, sanctified himself and prayed:

"Lord deliver me from the temptation of what could have been and what wasn't.".

The devil, screaming and trembling in pain, ran away.
The other two were surprised and said, “Brother, why did you react like that?”.
And he answered them:

"First, we should NEVER speak to the enemy."

Secondly, NO ONE in the world has the power to change the past.

Third: Satan's INTEREST was not to demonstrate our virtue, but to maintain us in the past, to neglect the present, the only moment when God gives us His grace and we can cooperate with it to do His will.
Of all the devils, what holds men back and prevents them from being happy is "what could have been and what could not have been". The past is at the Mercy of God and the future at His Providence. But the present is in His love. Live today loving God with all your heart.
