Sometimes it feels like God is absent, like He's ignoring our prayers and has left us abandoned. We don't always see or feel when God is working, but He always is. There's no such thing as "too fast" or "too slow" when it comes to God's timing. He sees everything, and He knows how to give us exactly what we need at the exact time we need it.

A good God wouldn't allow suffering. That's one of the strongest claims people have against God's existence. People think that a good God would immediately stop the pain. But God doesn't think like that. It may seem like God is staying back and doing nothing while we fall apart, but He's actually working tirelessly, using our pain and suffering to carefully and intricately shape us and make us better people.

It is through suffering that we learn to be patient, kind, and merciful. It is through suffering that we find peace. God is an artist and we are the work of His hands. Only He can take something evil and awful and turn it into something beautiful. But He can only do that if we trust Him.

We were all created by an amazing, perfect being, the very essence of love. And He gives us each an ultimate purpose: to become like Him. Why would anyone want to do that? Well, despite the fact that the world tells us endless lies about God, the bible shows us exactly who He is. He is gentle, caring, devoted, loyal, pure, self-less, and many other amazing things. To become like God is to become the best we can be. Even though it doesn't mean our lives will be easy or perfect, it does mean that we get to give love and receive love no matter what we're going through. Who doesn't want that?

We live in a world where we can get an answer within seconds. All we have to do is google our question and the response is instant. It can be tempting to treat God like He is google too. We bring all our concerns to Him. Should I take that job? Should I date that person? Should I move to that place? And we expect Him to tell us what to do right then and there. But God isn't always going to respond right away. Sometimes His response is delayed, but when it is, there's always a purpose for it. As we wait for God to speak to us, we need to be patient.

Psalms 119:105 and Proverbs 11:14 remind us that we also need to be intentional about reading scripture and seeking wise counsel when we're looking for answers because God often speaks through those mediums. God is trustworthy and we can expect Him to give us the guidance we're seeking in His perfect timing. But we mustn't forget to obey once He does.

God does so much for us, more than we are even aware of. He wraps us in His love every single day. Worship is a way for us to thank Him for who He is. It's a way for us to remember how blessed we are and what an amazing God we serve. We may not always feel like worshipping, but when we choose to worship anyway, God is pleased with us. Let's remember to always honor our Father in Heaven because He deserves all of our praise.

If you're human, it means that you struggle with something. Even the most seemingly perfect person faces challenges. Sin is something that is always around and always an option. Many times, when we're struggling with a sin, we choose to hide it, usually out of embarrassment or shame. But hiding a sin makes it much harder to overcome it.

There's a reason that God tells us to love one another. He says that loving each other is how we fulfill His law. We have a responsibility to each other and part of that responsibility is to help each other overcome the things that we struggle with. James 5:16 tells us to confess our sins to each other so that we may be healed. When we let others help us and carry our burdens with us, our problems become much easier to solve. There's healing in community.

If you're struggling with a sin and you're having a hard time dealing with it, stop trying to handle it by yourself. Share it with someone you trust. Receive the help that God has offered you so that you can be healed.

Jesus spent his entire life on earth serving others. He fed the hungry, healed the sick, washed His disciples' feet, and died on the cross. Matthew 20:28 says that Jesus came to serve, not to be served. God expects us to live the exact same way. He created us to be servants. We cannot say that we love people if we don't care about the needs of others and actively fulfill them. When we fulfill other people's needs for their gain and not ours, we represent God, and we reflect His love.

There are many opportunities to serve in church and in your community. If you're not already serving somewhere, find a place where you can make a difference.

The word "submission" has a lot of negative connotation. It's often associated with being weak, having little value, being a push-over, and many other unattractive things. But when we submit to God, we are the exact opposite. We are strong; we are highly valued; and we are allies.

Submitting to God is putting our desires aside to obey the desires of someone greater than us, someone who knows better. God's desire is for us to love Him and to love each other. There is nothing greater than that. To sacrifice ourselves for other people is to be strong enough to put our own comfort aside. To be full of God's love is to have immense value because love is the most valuable thing that exists. And to give that love to others and to make sure that everyone's needs are taken care of is to be God's ally.

Submission is freedom from our own shortcomings, our own tendencies towards selfishness, and our own lack of wisdom. As we surrender control to the One who created all things, we free ourselves from the burden of evil, and give God all the space to transform us into beacons of light that can conquer the darkness.
